Yeah mine said 26 this morning brrrrrr. The "summers" on the forester are just the factory all seasons so not much to worry about there. It's much easier to swap when it's not too cold though.
still on summers...but not for much longer. The early morning frost on the roads is going to become increasingly slippery.
Forcast shows snow next week, I'd do it now. .. I still have a set of all seasons to beat the absolute piss out of this winter, then I'll probably replace them with some nice blizzaks or something for next winter.
I would suggest saving your all seasons for spring or fall.... drop the $300 on some Generals and you will love your car in the winter.
I'm going to veto that option, as it involves me having yet another stack of tires sitting in my living room.
I'd think you could make a smooth transition from summer to winter tires (or all-season). No sense in dropping hundreds of dollars for all seasons you'll run for 2-4 months out of the year... Unless you have the extra cash and storage space.
His point is that you already have crappy all season tires. Getting winter tires for winter should be a minimum, and then you could use your all seasons in the spring and fall if you want, or, preferably, you could just throw them in the garbage or sell them for a few bucks.
I already have summer tires, probably should have mentioned that... that's why i'm burning what's left of the all seasons I have over this winter so that I can put winter tires on the wheels for next year. They're too worn down to get any money for, but not worn down enough for me to want to replace them yet.
Thanks Ben. I was saying..... Winter Tires for Winter Summer Tires for Summer (Spring and Fall) If you are going to waste money (or have money to waste) on All Seasons use them in Spring and Fall. Don't "burn up" your all seasons in the winter. Buy the correct tires for the correct season. All Seasons in winter suck!
My choices here are use the all seasons this winter, or use summer tires this winter. I think I've made the right choice.
I plan on doing that, as soon as I get rid of what's left of these all seasons, there's no point in just throwing them out. You give me a set and I'll put them on.
He's suggesting you buy a set of awesome tires. I don't think he cares what you do with the other perfectly good (but considerably less awesome) ones...
I put on my WS70's today. That was after noticing the star specs driving like hockey pucks and back-end sliding out in turns with minimal throttle input. +1 on the sooner the better.
Just let the dogs out seen the snow flying... My suggestion is to have the summers off by now. My $0.02 is that all seasons are great 80% of MN winter days; the real question is do you want to take the chance the other 20%... Take into account HP, tire condition, driving style & type of roads/ miles per day. Winter's are great 100% of MN winter days That being said the LGT is sporting brand new spring/fall's... That is until we have extra funds for the winter's.
yup, just threw on the winter set on my car, was rubbing at first, so I had to take off the jdm aero guards.
Just got done putting the snows on. Since I am on all-seasons the remainder of the year, I go by the first forecasted snow rather than a specific date or the prevailing ambient temps.
Yesterday was a good time to put them on... Waiting for the tow truck to pick my dumb ass up.. Made it 300ft.. Curb..
Saw these fun tracks while I was out today: Looks like someone met a curb Also, going into my neighbor's driveway it looked like they locked up the tires mid-turn and ended up driving through a bit of their lawn, lol.
Just look at the tread design you can tell they're All Seasons. I'm thinking this is could be a FWD vehicle based on the steering correction.
....yea I've been putting this off too long Snow is on the way for the first of December and the winter tires are finally going on tomorrow and the summers in storage. Latest I've ever waited to put them on.
I spotted a Jeep Liberty tonight with snow tires on the rear of the car (on different rims, no less) and all seasons on the front. That's not going to work out so well when they understeer off the road. There's a reason they go on in sets of 4.
I managed to order my tires finally and get them mounted! 205/60/16 Hankook I*Pikes. They look pretty mean right now and I can't wait for some snow to test them lol.
Better than putting them on the front only. Or having none at all. But I do agree that you should buy all 4. I don't know why anyone wouldn't.
So where's the snow already? So far this winter is all kinds of suck. (Just venting about the weather or lack there of. No need for respond to this, unless of course your a meteorologist)
