Where to go for paint job. Where to go for suspension work? Cheaper is better.

I've got some rust spots id like removed and paint scratches id like touched up. Maaco quoted me $1300.00. Other recs?

I need new struts put in and possible rear sway bar installed. I've done brake jobs, starter replacements, replaced engine coils. Nothing real hard. This sounds hard maybe. Recs for who to use? Cheaper is better, faster not required.

    Thanks

Putting in a new rear sway bar is very easy, and I highly recommend using ramps instead of jacking up the car for sway bar removal/install. Since the rest of your car is rusty, your rear sway bar probably is too. Let it soak with PB blaster before attempting to break free.

Swapping struts isn't bad, esp if you have done those other jobs. You'll need to rent a spring compressor (free at parts stores...I believe Advance or O'Reilly do not have a time limit on the rental) and the job would be easier with two people. I also wouldn't recommend using an impact gun on your new struts to install the top nuts...stock struts have an allen key to hold the strut from spinning. Use an allen key and pass through ratchet to tighten.

Otherwise if you don't want to tackle the suspension jobs, Jeff the Alignment guy does suspension work (for much cheaper than he should), or NF Performance can help, or perhaps RS Motors.

Uh oh, better call Maaco? I'd call some other options too before going to Maaco. LaMettry's is typically regarded as one of the best places in the metro for body work.

    Thank you!

I might be able to get my brother to help otherwise I'll give Jeff the alignment guy a check in.

    I'll also check lemettrys!

    Thank you so much!

Jeff is dope, but he charges more for shocks/struts than Nuke. I did struts/springs on my outback and took it to Nuke, then had Jeff do the alignment. Highly recommend both

When you say nuke, do you mean NF or nuke specifically? Also what's the best way to reach the guys over there, other the through the forum? I don't have the best luck getting much via PM from either nuke or NF.

If you PM NFPerformance on the forum you will get a reply. The person who logs into that account is a busy guy with a day job and a family so give him a couple days. He will get back to you.
