So recently i had gotten a 06 wrx catback from wrexinator03, and fabbed it to fit my rs. I had bought the stock rs donut gasket, and obviously didnt work too well with the 06 wrx catback. Anyone whos swapped for the 04-05 sti or 06-07 wrx catback, which gasket did you end up using?

Is the wrx flange too large for the RS donut? Or what doesn't fit so well about them?

I'm in the process of modifing an 06 catback to fit my OBS, I was assuming that I'd have to use the old flange from my orig catback and then just use the orig size donut.

You might be able to take the two donuts in to a parts store and see if they have a donut with the RS inner diameter and the WRX outer diameter.

Slightly OT, where did you get the welding done? Thanks.

yeah the wrx flange is way to big for the rs donut. hmm i should of thought of that, but i didnt want to hack my stock cbe incase i ever wanted to go stock again.

i did the welding myself with the cheap flux core welder my bro has. Pretty simple. extend like 2 or so inches and rotate it.

Ok. I ended up hacking apart the resonator that was on the midpipe. I was just going to extend it a bit, but the pipe inside the resonator is thinner and already rusty, now I'm thinking I just want to run new 2 1/4" pipe from the flange all the way back to behind the resonator.

I might run around tomorrow and see if I can find a stock sized flange too, so I don't have to cut apart my orignial stuff.

yeah, i see looks cool. originally i had wanted to just run a straight pipe onto the axelback, but ran out of time so i just cut, extend and weld and install. And upon start up its major leaking. -_-
