I actually really like NASIOC for its information on there, you just gotta weed out asshats like Unibomber and Uncle Scotty.

yeah, well it sounds to me like the concensus is that that behavior is accepted by most net going people. So they are not jerks, they are citizens of the increacingly "UN-Nice" internets, and I just don't understand why people are compelled to be so rude to some one with common intrests and Ideals.

I think Nasioc is a great resource, but for me... from now on... a read-only.

I realy have so little to contribute to conversation, and I can learn by reading other newbs threads, instead of starting my own and getting flamed.

I like MNsubaru.com alot! I can ask a dumb question and I can get answers, and a polite reminder to use the search button.

You guys are much better than the broad "UN-Nice" internets.

Therein lies the problem. We don't have to accept it, nor should we.

Posting with zero class, zero manners, zero politeness eventually morphs into intentionally being an a-hole just for fun.

This is what is wrong with Nasioc, and it is becoming more and more of a problem in larger society.

Acting with civility is becoming more rare every day. It saddens and disgusts me.

Civility is great, but so is personal responsibility and self sufficiency.

Too many people out there aren't willing to take the time to actually research what they're doing to see if it's right for them. Instead, they go with whatever happens to be the going trend and want their answers spoonfed to them. That tends to rub people the wrong way, especially the people who've taken the time to search and learn on their own. Claiming ignorance and throwing out an impossibly broad/vague question are two things that'll get you roasted on almost any forum, which is why I'd rather spend a few hours doing some research and finding the answer that's best for me than deal with the torches and pitchforks.

People need to be more civil, but they also need to learn to do their own legwork instead of wanting it to be handed to them.

Unibomber and Uncle Scotty suffer from the 'giving too much support in the same field for too long' disease. It's called burnout. I see this all the time in the support field. Knowledge goes up and patience\tolerance goes down.

They probably know they need to stop, but the habit is hard to kick. Too much time invested. Too many people stroking their egos..

I'd agree with that to an extent. Uncle Scotty has always been a cranky bastard.

It is so funny. This place is the same was as Nasioc. Someone asks a stupid question and then the hammer gets dropped and the mods clean up the mess. Maybe not as often asnasioc, but then we don't have 200k people. And it is burnout. I have seen and answered the same damn "my car doesn't start" thread 20 times this winter and I have been on this site since it was started. People ask the same damn question and they get the same responses at the 20 other threads every winter. Now you mix the with 200k people asking the same stupid questions and have some of the old timers answer the same stupid questions and you will end up with crabby people.

So when you say "you should put together a FAQ", my response is, you do it and I will make it a sticky. Or check the FAQ area and see if it is already done. But since nobody bothers to actually read those, the stupid question will be asked anyways.

I can see how this is frustrating, but on this forum people aren't such D-bags, people here will see that the stupid question has been replied to and will let it go, on nasioc, as soon as 1 person makes a good judgement and tells the op that their question is dumb, then 10 more junior d-bags have to re-IDIOTrate the same point,

MNsubaru is better than that, fewer and less douchy D-bags around here.

There is a difference between those who do not know simply because they just bought there car or want to mod and have never done before. and ...

Those who just are flat out too lazy to look at the rest of the sites ... Nasioc, Clubwrx, iwsti, wrxfanatics, ... the list goes on. So they sit and ask the same question the next guy did. Also the fact that you can pick up a bugeye for under 9k is not helping at all. Any punk kid out/in HS can ask mommy and daddy for a WRX for there first car. The WRX has been a reasonable priced car but now any yah who with 7k can get a bugeye with 120k on it and immediately wants a BOV. ZOMGPSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHH!

good point, I think I could look up some of my old posts and pull a few no brainer question out of there, but I have to say, I never really got flamed...

    on here....

Also take note that no one in this thread got but hurt... we discussed our opinions and gave supporting facts and had some debate.

Imagine what this thread would have turned into on Nasioc!!!

My point is that for nasioc is a read only (excet the classifieds)

and mnsubaru members are awesome. I'm proud to be apart of this forum and that is why I paid for the membership card!

You guys built somthing good here.

I think most people who have been in the game loose their cool at some point. I've been there, and lost it on a couple people. Did it make me feel better? Not really, because I made an ass of myself in the process. I'm not flexible enough anymore to keep putting my foot in my mouth, so I tend to stay back a lot of the time now.

Everyone gets to a point where they need to step back, and let others carry on. I've done it before. I'll never try to be a big **** swinger on nasioc, just because it isn't worth the effort to try and stoke one's ego like that. I'd rather work on the other ten projects I have going on then build a big internet rap sheet. Besides, on what resume would you put down that you are a big deal on the internet and people know you?

I can see it now. You're on a date and it goes something like this:

    "Did you know I'm famous?"
    "Oh my god, really?"
"Yup. Everyone knows me on 456 subaru message boards on the internet."
":ugh: I'm leaving now. You're like, really creepy."

    Just say

"You do know, I'm kind of a big deal on the internets"

it is fun to type that! Let alone say it out loud and realize how absurd it is!

Agreed this "aggressive fitment" crap is really frickin' annoying.

    Original topic:

People find it so easy to be arrogant, impatient dingwads on t3h !nt4rw3bz.

Seriously, if you're annoyed by somebody's question, just don't read or respond to the thread.

I'm guessing that people posting questions (no matter how moronic they may seem) are just hoping that people on these boards would be decent and helpful. After all, they are supposed to be in real life. Why should it be different online? Because of the anonymity?

I mean, does it really offend or pain you when someone asks a question, even for the umpteenth time? Why get so bent out of shape? Learn some patience. Don't take things so seriously. Or yourself.

nasioc sucks... end of story. it has useful information and completely useless members.

this site can get the same way sometimes, as russ pointed out.

dan had a good point too, i have found myself growing apart from MNsubaru and Subaru in general lately just to escape some of the crap that is tied up in the club and some of its members... sometimes i just have to remember i can ignore you all. haha

I like wide wheels in the sense that if you got a 17x9 your gonna run a 255 or larger. "yeah I got these Volks/BBS/Advan/HRE/J-Line rims in 18x9 and I'm gonna put my 225/40/18 RT615's on them!" Complete waste of a rim!!!
