Greetings. As the title states, I'm curious as to what the widest wheel/tire combo I can put on my wagon is. I know I'm limited a little vs. the sedan because of the non-flared fenders. Found a set of 17x7.5 Subaru wheels and am wondering if I could make them work. They currently have snow tires on them but I'd be getting rid of those and using the wheels for summer tires. I emailed on them asking if the guy knows backspacing & offset, and also the tire size that's currently on them. I've got a stack of tires a buddy and I scored at an auction a couple summers ago and they'd be perfect summer cruisers on a daily driver (nothing special, just got 'em for dirt cheap). They're 235/45-17. Ideally I'd get the wheel/tire combo, sell the snows for whatever I can get for 'em, and mount my summer tires, then have a bolt on set of summers to go with my current 16" stockers w/ Blizzaks. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks. PS - Anybody interested in some 17" snow tires...?
What kind of snow tires? I may want them. 17x7.5 should fit just fine on a wagon. YOu could go to a 8 if you wanted, but would likely need to roll your fenders. This is all pending that you have proper offsets.
"The tires are Yokohama iceGuards and have 5,000 miles on them with 2 having around 90% tread and the other 2 with about 80%." Here's the email I got from him: Hi Cody. Tires are 215-45r17. Not positive on the offset but they will fit your wagon I can guarantee it. I think it is +38. But my wrx summer rims are wider and offset is more positive than the jdm legacy wheels. They will fit a wagon 100% positive and would look nice too. Yes thief river. I could maybe drive a little to meet you. As of now, I'd say my stash of tires is out for this car. So essentially was writing these off for the time being. However, if I can find a decent set of useable rubber for them and get a decent instant rebate via selling the snow tires, I'd consider it. Plus the drive to get them would suck...
