Do you happen to have additional insurance for cancer treatments? I found out I had/have melanoma a few years ago and have to constantly be suspicious of moles and such. Fortunately I've caught the few that turned out bad and was able to get them removed for little cost. My insurance does offer added protection for cancer treatment bills which adds something like $20 a month to my premiums. You may want to look into that if you and your wife think you may need the added coverage. I added it just in case I miss one someday and end up in the hospital for radiation therapy. Sure surgery is expensive, but then so is the recovery. There was another place that specializes in certain types of cancers in Roseville. I went there for one biopsy. I think it was a Parker-Hughes clinic? It wasn't very far from where Todd worked (Identifix). They seemed really knowledgeable but then I'm still totally clueless about a lot of this stuff. And hey, the biggest thing is to keep positive.
The 3 clinics that my boss recommended was Mayo, Fairview U of M, and Parker Hughes...We went to 2 so far and had the same senerio... Unfortunately Parker Hughes aren't one of the networks so we would have to come out with our own $$$, about 30%. We are also going to see the specialist from health partners, he is listed in the Cancer society so hopefully he is qualified, from what I hear Dr. Savage is a very ruputable guy from the other hospitals...
Well...from my understanding yesturday during the visit...They did check her out and suggested to do a surgery (standard procedure) for this. Which means taking out the entire reproductive organ...So no babies in the future, which I am fine with, but she wants a few and we are talking about adpotion but that is ways away. They she could still have a baby, if they don't do the standard procedure, but we won't know the extent of the cancer afterwards...It can spread to other organs, tissues, etc. but at this point they say it isn't life threatening if we do the surgery and maybe with some kemo. They are just suprised because it happened at an early age. Usually this happens after having a few kids and 40+ age.
Next step MRI scan and PET scan...Haven't setup the time yet... This Friday should make her a bit happier...We are go'in to the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert @ Xcel Energy...pretty close to the front row
Ya kno...that is what I SAID! But she lov'em...well only them 2...She's into the romantic lubby dubby stuff... I bought it like 2 months ago...Because she kept hounding me for it...so it was a suprise for her. Funny I asked her if she wanted to take her sister instead of me since I'M NOT A COUNTRY KIND OF GUY...lol but now I guess I would make the best of it...

Just getting back on line to hear about your wife. Sorry to hear that man. I feel for ya as I just hit my 3 year mark cancer free. Chemo is horrible. I hope she doesn't have to go through it. Keep her spirits up and sing her some nose twanging songs when she goes to bed.

MAN!...I'm in the hospital since 3:30pm...How long does a Pet/MRI scan last!?! It's been 4 hrs. and I'm using there Internet cuz I'm bored!
^^ that is one spendy motel.. Slightly off topic... just got the "this is not a bill" statement for my heart surgery and one night in the hostpital... 79,700. so think twice before staying there and not going down the street to a super 8, or back home...
wells...got back from see the oncologist and both Fairview and Health Partners agree...a surgery is needed. They both hope it hasn't spread over her uteris wall into the muscle tissue...There r no results yet for the Pet scan and MRI. I'm sure we will find out today to see if anything spread...
You are both in our thoughts. Need a yellow wrist band? I think I have a few around here somewhere still.
Let us know the results of the scans when you get them. Hopefully it hasn't spread and only surgery is needed.

Scans came back good...Didn't spread to her ovaries...(not yet) Docs said if we want to try to have a baby it can still work...But she is still deciding...I told her it is her choice... I have always gambled in life and took a few risk...but in this case I would like to play it safe and get the surgery done...but I said it is her call... She would still need to get it out either way...now or later
