At first, I looked at your original post date of 10-12-08 and was like wtf.... then I saw you edited tonight! Wild, undefeated...'08-'09!
w00t, good victory. I thin this team is going to work well together. Also our mascot is Crash Bandicoot.
Gaby was out with his wonky groin (aka, sit him before the trade). Mittens/Koivu/bruno line will be a monster this year. Hopefully they can put together the same performance against TB on Sat. Gaby who?? Russ
^ +1 we need to either get rid of Gabby before he get perma injured or tell him that he is injured so much that he isnt worth 8.7mill and get him to sign for like 7.9 or 8mill. ibethedidntdohiscanadiangroinexcersisesoverthesummerlikehedidlastyear. I am predicting bad groin year for gabby.
Yes it should! I think the GF is taking her dad, so looks like I'll be hitting the liquor store after work.
Gotta love the "Coneheads" line! (Brunette-Koivu-Miettinen) They have amazing chemistry especially since they only really have a dozen or so games together. I believe Koivu is now leading the league in assists with 12 in 7 games, Miettinen now has 6 goals already, and Bruno has been consistent and a leader. Still haven't allowed a powerplay goal either! Nice start without Gaborik contributing anything really... GO WILD!
That line is so fun to watch! I think our season has so far proved that we don't need Gaborik. We've offered him our best deal and it's obvious he doesn't want to play here...he can go off and sell out to the Aves or something
Hopefully he goes to the Eastern Conference though, so we don't have to see him as much, plus they play a bit more of an up tempo offensive style in that conference which fits his style. If we do lose him, we better get some "goods" in return since Hossa and some others have been traded with heavy price tags. Gabby can be every bit as explosive and more offensive than Hossa too, so hopefully we get a lot back.
I've heard talk about throwing him up to Montreal for the kid who graduated from Cretin...can't remember his name now though
Yeah, let's do that... plus they can through in big brother Saku Koivu! Two Koivu's are better than one!
Hopefully Mittens and Burns are ok. Burns played like 3-4 shifts in the 3rd and Mittens took a huge cross ice check and went down pretty hard. It was a good win, but VERY slow to start out, and way to exciting at the end. Russ
We've played some "OK" teams, the real challenge will be when we start playing teams like Colorado, Anaheim, San Jose, Detroit etc. We do look pretty good out there without old glass groin though.
I don't think we are playing anywhere near our pontetial yet. I think last nights game could have gone either way and actually chicago had the upper hand most of the game. At least one of the goal was kind of lucky. We couldn't make it past the blue line without having it stolen unless we dumped it in. Saturdays game was also kind of a snoozer. I always feel like the wild play just hard enough to win(or match the other teams level) but never give it 100%. We should have killed columbus. just imho. Don't get me wrong, I think the wild are pretty strong this year but we have a long way to go if we plan on making the playoffs. I will say lol at chicago after pulling their goalie, they were skating around with their heads cut off and couldn't get organized.
Wow...what a cluster**** performance last night. Hopefully they get their heads on straight and find some offense tonight! Also, what the hell is up with Dallas taking all those short angled shots!?!?! I mean, they were deadly...but how do they pull that off?
Kind of wish Boogard would've went up against Avery last night...I hate that guy! All he does is run his mouth! I saw a special on him on ESPN and I guess his entire team thinks he's gay! He goes to fashion shows and enjoys shopping for women's clothing; he wants to be a designer! He interned at Vogue or some place of that sort! Taken from Wikipedia
http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/story?id=4704620&page=1 Yeah he is a strange one for sure. I saw him and Boogaard chatting last night and was hoping they would find each other at some point during the game.
I can't believe that we couldn't score after playing the better half of the 2nd period on power play. Fun game though. Imo it looked like we were playing better tonight at least. Also am I going out of my mind or was burns playing wing most of the night. My friend scored tickets in the second row. Amazing. From my crappy phone camera.
You have not lost your mind. He played forward on several shifts. In fact, that goal he scored was while playing forward. :eek3:
With Nolan out, the thew Mojesisesssssss in. Then if it is a big PK, Burns can play d and a big PP Burns can play forward. He was switching back and forth all night. It is kinda nice to have someone that cn fill in when needed and be effective while doing it. Holy fail in the 2nd tho. 0-10 on the PP last night. If I have a nickel for every time the chick behind us yelled shoot, I could go buy everone on this site a new 09 sti. Of course, that Habs fans were crazy. The singing and chanting during warmups was pretty crazy. Russ
I would have been yelling as well, I can't stand to watch PMB play sometimes, SHOOT THE DAMN PUCK!!!!!! All he does it try to setup pretty plays. Sometimes those dirty/ugly goals is what wins a hockey game. Get rid of him and Gaborik, he looks like a freaking 6th grader out there.
