Anyone catch the bos v. mon. game? Crazy power plays

Started when a Mon player boarded a bos. player and the bos goalie retaliated by leveling him (hardcore). 4 on 3 mon having the man advantage. Then 4 on 4 for a short time. Then 5 on 4 with bos having the man advantage. Mon got another penatly and it was 5 on 3 for a 2 min. Bos scored and was still on 5 on 4 power play. Total craziness.

It was somewhat ruined by the drunk old guy sitting next to me who insited on talking to me the whole game. He left for a littl while and when he came back I'm all but positive he had pissed his pants.

The actual game was pretty decent, too bad Weller got pwnd, lol at guys arguing over which one would fight him.
Sheps fight wasn't that great either, a draw at best.
Clutterbuck is getting better and better every game!

Am I alone in thinking burns has slipped a little since he came back from playing offense?

Not to bad of a game. I think I need to re-read the rules book. Every game I go to gets called a different way.

Nice to see Benny P getting thrown to the minors. Most emotion he has shown all year is storming out of the locker room. I don't care how much talent he has, his work ethic sucks.

Also, Next season we will be splitting up some blocks of games to sell. If anyone is interested in picking up 5-10 game blocks let me know. We might even go as far as splitting a season.

whoa! cool site. I will need to keep my eye on that for future games.

A for last nights game, we looked pretty good. It is great seeing Clutterbuck tearing it up out there. Huge hits, good shots, and drawing penalties. I agree that Burns isnt doing the greatest right now. It seems like whenever JL switches up his position it messes with him alittle. That is why I do not like it when Burns is on O.

Is anyone else less than happy with Zidlicky? Maybe he just isnt having a great season but he seems to be making alot of mistakes to me. slip ups on the blue line and out of position stuff. maybe its just me.

also.. Weller got pwned to the nth degree. That cannot even be called a fight. The plus side is that all of the coming games against the oilers are going to be amazing to watch.

I agree with Zidlicky making mistakes on the blue line and in the corners, but we really got him for his ability to score, move the puck, and of course for his shot on the power play. He was playing better a few weeks back, but he is still giving us some scoring from the blue line, he just needs to tighten up the defense end. Him and Bergeron have been about what we can expect, not big hitters, not great defensively, but two of the hardest shots, and best offensive defensemen we have ever had.

Weller did get jacked up, as I saw the replay last night it appeared he didn't know who was gonna throw down since Moreau stepped in like he was gonna throw down... I am surprised the Boogeyman didn't get thrown out to enforce some havoc in the 3rd period since it was getting kind of chippy. It will be a fun final 5 games against them...

Will do. We are currently sec 112 row 11 and we have been sitting in that general area since season 2. So unless we can move down a couple of rows, we will be staying in that location. While going to 44+ games is fun, we are getting xcel'd out. We don't have the time to get food before the game, so we are eating rink food all the time. I am so damn tired of pizza, chicken, burgers and dogs that I almost ready to just starve at the game. The 3 weeks around thanks giving this year was hell. So we are looking to get rid of some games next year for sure and maybe a few more this season (maybe some playoffs if we get that far).

It's not even a certain call, it is the whole system. I have seen Burns set up and check a guy crossing the blue line. He gets a penalty. I see Mikko going the other way, gets dragged to the ice by the other team and nothing gets called. How about the Sharks game (I think). Backstrom gets the delay of game penalty for holding onto the puck. The other goalie does it 2-3 times and holds the puck for longer and nothing gets called. How about the goalie playing the puck in the corners?? I really don't get that rule. So last game, Rolie pulls the puck out of the corner (the puck is in the corner box, but he isn't) and nothing is called. Watch the Ducks game tonight. Jiggy plays the puck from the corner all the time and nothing gets called. I have seen the puck played and the goalie in (and the puck out) and no calls. Maybe I am just at too many games.

Yeah, the level of consistancy this year has been questionable at best.

The delay of game penalty on Backs (and then all of the non-calls) @ the SJ game drove me nuts.

Yeah I agree that was a sketchy call. How about the goal we scored during powerplay that didn't get counted until later, they could have at least stopped play.

I understand(and agree we could use more consistency) what you're saying, but lets be honest, hockey is a fast paced sport at the reality is that refs aren't going to make perfect calls every time. Sucks but that's the way life is.

    Wow, that was pretty bad.

I thought we had a chance in the 1st but after that it was mostly down hill.

I don't even remember how many times we took our sweet time getting set up only to lose it in the neutral zone.

I thought we played pretty good actually. The refs were FAR from helpful, and that doesn't help anyone. I mean really, does the ref really need to stand in the crease as Backstrom is getting his ass kicked?? How about Mikko getting his teeth knocked out and the no call. Hell, he is bleeding all over the place.... We just didn't finish the chances we had. I think if our goal would have counted, it would have been a different game. It was nice to see Boogie get some serious ice time and make a good contribution.

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired center/left wing Dan Fritsche (FRIHT-chee) from the New York Rangers in exchange for defenseman Erik Reitz. The Wild also assigned center Krys Kolanos to AHL Houston.

Not a bad move. Reitz has been making a lot of popcorn lately and we are plenty deep in the D area. We are short handed in the center area, so why not move someone that isn't playing for us for someone that can help out. He was playing in NY because they had 6 centers. Money is a wash, so I see no issues.

Not sure on the KK deal tho. He hasn't been playing to well, but then he has been stuck on the 4th line, so it is tought to blame him when he is getting 5 minutes of ice time every night.

I agree...Reitz never impressed me all that much. I'm looking forward to seeing Fritsche play, maybe he'll click really well!

I could care less about the Kolanos waiver...he was starting to look really lost on the ice. It seems like he was getting frustrated.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I liked what Kolanos was attempting to give them... a lot of hustle, some good faceoff wins, and some creativity on a fourth line full of ogres. I do agree that the past few games he seemed to have regressed...

I think it gets tough for some of the younger players like Kolanos and even Pouliot to get any consistency or confidence in their game with Jacques since he changes lines so much. I like having Clutterbuck and Veilliux playing with Shephard as it makes for a formidable defensive line with some potential for grinding out goals, but I think offensive minded players like KK and BP should play with other offensive players rather than the Boogards and Wellers of the team.

I guess it all boils down to Jacques style which continues be successful at times when the players are buying into to playing both ends. Better question may be, what in the hell have we been doing the past few years with our draft picks, we must either have the worst luck with talent or have poor talent evaluation! Hard to build a team with out hitting gold (or at least silver) in the draft every once in a while.

Are we gonna re-sign Backstrom anytime soon or just let him slip away? I do like what I see from Harding, but I don't see how we can plan on just rolling the dice with him in the future...

It looks like Fritsche will be making his first appearance tonight! It will be fun to watch.

As far as Backstrom...we better resign him! People are saying that he's really the only thing we have to offer in a trade for some good offense. I don't think Harding is ready to be #1. If we did let Backs go and have Harding be #1, who would be our backup...Schaeffer from the Aeros?! Great...

Yeah, I don't get all of the trade banter that goes on over at the wild boards. And yes, I agree that we NEED to re-sign Backstrom. IMHO, he's the reason why we are still in the log jam of a playoff hunt.

Great game to watch, I was at the edge of my seat for awhile at the end there. Backstrom looked awesome!

WTF did Clutterbuck get a game misconduct for? I was watching at Applebees and couldnt here everything. The hits he made on whats his face (#3?) all looked legal, even the last one where the guy got a cut on his face.

    Wednesday should be interesting...

Got Info from Wild Nhl site.

Vancouver had a great chance to tie it when Wild forward Cal Clutterbuck was given a 5-minute penalty and game misconduct for boarding Alex Burrows just over two minutes later. But Backstrom stopped all nine shots on the ensuing power play, including a left pad robbery of Daniel Sedin on the goal line, and Kyle Wellwood whiffed on two great chances at empty nets.

Ok, got the call from Craig about ticket prices next season and it looks like everything is staying the same. With that, anyone that interested in picking up some game packages for next year and possibly some playoff tickets for this season (again same prices as last season) shoot me a pm. Looks like the Wild are going to start looking for next seasons cash at the end of March. So if anyone is interested in a 5-10 game packages, let me know.

I might be interested. How many seats? And I'm not familiar with last years prices...so what range does a 5-10 game package go for?

    Oh, and what section?

Section 112, row 11 seats 5&6. We always get parking in the ryan lot and depending on price changes for next year, it takes a $20-25 lot and knocks it down to $15. So with parking it come out to $165 a game. From there it is simple math.

What I have done in the past is once the schedule comes out, pick out the games that you would be interested in and if there is any conflicts, flip a coin. I have been going since season 2, I got to see crosby last year and AO this year. Crosby will be back next season and I have already seen him, so there really is not many games that I "want" to see.

You should have come down, the 4 seats in front of us were open all night. There is a extra seat next to us and 1 right in front of that, so unless it is some special game, those 2 seats are also open. I will also shoot you a pm back.

    Russ

Oh ya, and nice game last night. ;)
