I'm currently on stage2 and turning my car back to stock as possible. Will i get a CEL if I leave the aftermarket UpPipe on and flash it back to stock? Oem downpipe and CBE will be on.

You shouldn't, but you may get a CEL for an EGT sensor.

Is there anyway to keep the aftermarket UpPipe with the oem DP and CBE w/o getting a CEL?

b/c I dont want to go through all those hours to take off a $50 pipe unless anybody want to trade me thier oem UP w/sensor and give me a little cash(you do everything).

That's a bit outrageous, don't you think! How about, put the sensor back in and just sell it as is, and stop cluttering the forum with questions there are answers to!

you have got to be kidding me....if anything a stock up pipe is worth more then an aftermarket one because of the cat.

Man, you go a really long time without making a retarded thread, then you make two.

    ^^Ohh snap. :hsugh:

Kong, didn't we put in a 2.2 resistor when I put in the up-pipe?? IIRC I did. If that's the case you don't have to worry about a EGT CEL even without Cobb or OpenECU

Maybe somebody might want a UP. They could buy and install a UP on the sameday. Just like me taking it off and sell it. If you buy it you need it install too. So why not buy it and install it on sameday.

Just taking the hassle of me taking it off.

so YOU want one .. but cause someone wants a $50 up pipe from ebay they have to install and un-install onto your and theirs.. why would they... maybe if you gave them the up-pipe and $50 it would be worth the nearly 5hrs they would spend to get a junker $50 up-pipe..

wait thats logic... and you are EJ20.. my foolishness for assuming those 2 things would work in the same sentence!!

    Back on topic...

Yes, you will get a CEL around 68mph if you are running a catless up-pipe without the correct fixes. I had someone reflash my ecu to fix the open loop close loop issue. It would take anyone with a laptop and the ecu plugin thing about 5 minutes to fix it, though it sounds like Dave did the resister fix for you.

Yeah, sounds like I put one in. I always do unless the customer is getting a flash immediately or already has the cel disabled.

guys, let's not crap in his thread. Let it go.

    And an FYI.

If someone WERE to swap up pipes with you, they would need an EGT sensor, or at least a plug since you don't have one and the OEM pipe comes with a HOLE in it.

well, if they know its a Junker UP then I'm sure their not that stupid to get it. They're better off buying something brand name and not stupid enought to waste time on my Junky UP.

Couldn't you just tap the uppipe for the EGT and solve all your problems?

Or maybe not go back to stock?

yea, I'm letting the car stay at stage2. I was just wondering how hard/easy it is to leave the aftermarket UpPipe and put the oem downpipe and CBE.

    wait a second...

you want to leave the car at stage2, but want to put the oem downpipe back on? that is a pretty crucial element to be able to call yourself stage2, not to mention the performance problems associated with a move like that.

    think it through a bit.

I think you guys misunderstood what he was trying to say....

    A. he intends to leave the car at stage 2.

    B. He was simply exploring if he reverted back to stock would he still be able to leave the aftermarket up-pipe in there w/o throwing a CEL

There is a bit too much "conversion" necessary when reading these threads.
