    So I tried my best to find a thread but have the following question. I went to a Cobb AP stage 1 over the summer after upgrading exhaust and air filter. The new responsiveness is great but does anyone tune down for the winter? Is there any reason to?

    Maybe post some more details. If you are just running the off the shelf map I see no reason to mess with it. The only detuning myself, or my friends do for the winter is swap from e85 to 91. In the winter I never really pushed the car in the upper gears as I was very much maxing my injectors out even when it was warm.

    Nah, if it's a daily there's no real reason to detune for the winter.

    If it's not a daily you shouldn't be driving it in the winter anyway ;)

    Correct me if I am wrong but if you have done an exhaust upgrade and intake as well wouldn't you want to run the stage two map instead of the stage 1 map. I was under the impression that stage 1 tunes were classified as a "stock tune"

    catback only = stage 1
    downpipe = stage 2

    In the last two winters on my Prius I've replaced my ST43 brake pads with factories, inserted a cardboard in between the IC and radiator, reinstall the factory airbox, switch back to 93 octane instead from E85 for easier start up, turn the boost back down, switch over to winter tires and install winter winshield blades.

    My car has a difficult time with the really really cold air and will make her very unhappy when I try and accelerate up to hwy speeds.
