LOL. Your car will be practically unstoppable with those tires. Not much for performance and a low speed rating, so I'd not recomend much over 90 at any time. Otherwise they'll do the job and 4 wheel burn outs should be quite easy now. Just don't tear up the tires before the snow starts flying. :)

I'm torn between trying out the Dunlop Wintersports and the Nokians. I found the Dunlop prices on tire rack but I still have to check on the Hakkas. I'm also debating a cheap set of rims for winter or using the stocker BBS's in the winter and buying nicer ones next summer. I'm in no rush at this point but it can't go to the backburner just in case we get an early winter. They don't need to go on this second but it wouldn't be a bad thing to have them in the garage.

For the more popular sizes and styles I would definately suggest not waiting to order them. Last year when I bought mine I found quite a few were starting to run low on stock. Part of it had to do with Bridgestone having a tire warehouse burn to the ground and putting most of their higher end tires up in smoke. I don't think prices will change much if at all between now and winter anyway.

LOL whoops - I read your other post wrong the first time. The IIRA was specifically NOT what you were asking about  Those are the guys that do full contact in ice-prepped cars, but it's fun to watch. Lots of Saab 99's and VW Rabbits. What I'd suggest is hooking up with the quattro club (http://www.glacierlakesqclub.org) this winter; a few MNSubaru-ers and I did one of these last year and had a great time - by 11am everyone there had huge smiles on their faces.
They plow a few different courses/skidpads/slaloms and everyone rotates through them. Last year they even timed the course runs in the afternoon. Other than that keep watching the boards and I'll post up if I hear of anything else.

Dunlop Wintersport M3, great for all winter conditions; not so great for doing donuts in the snow.
