Alright...I'm kinda pissed now. I know it was nothing that you did Dave, but I got a call from Venburg this morning telling me they aren't able to track down any Blizzak Revos!!!!!! WTF, why would they offer a discount on them if they can't even get them!?!? Now my options are between the Hakka's (which I can't afford) or Blizzak WS-60. for 763.28!!!! He didn't mention if that was with the discount or not. Dave, could you do me a favor and let me know if he said that Revos would be offered to us? I'm going to call them back and try and get the ws-60s for the Revo pricing. This sucks!
well if at all possible I would like the stock size of 215/45/17...but it sounds like Blizzaks don't come in that size, so to make a short answer long, yes 225/45/17 I'll hold off on contacting them until I hear back from you. Thanks for doing this...and I'm not blaming you, so you don't have to be sorry!
I just got off the phone with Kevin. Looks like their two warehouses are both out of stock on the Revo's. He can't get them to provide an ETA either. He's shooting me alternative tires and prices. Blizzak WS-60-> not a great option. His cost is 150 for a 225/45/17. Yikes!!!! Tire Rack carries that size for 139 plus shipping. I should have the list today and will update the OP and PM you.
please keep all craigslist findings or non group buy information to the appropriate forum and/or take it to PM. I've updated the first post. 11/10/08 UPDATE Blizzak Revo's are NOT available right now. Venburg Tire's warehouses are sold out. You can call Kevin at Venburg for an update at anytime, but as of today he couldn't even get an ETA on the Revo's. Here's the alternative tires. General Alti Artic Dunlop DS-2 Winter 195/65R15 General Alti Artic = $69.20 per tire, $15 Labor ($355.48) Dunlop DS-2 Winter = $86.50 per tire, $15 Labor ($429.36) 205/55R16 General Alti Artic = $89.10 per tire, $15 Labor ($440.46) Dunlop DS-2 Winter = $109.92 per tire, $15 Labor ($529.36) 225/45R17 General Alti Artic = $113.48 per tire, $15 Labor ($544.56) Dunlop DS-2 Winter = $151.12 per tire, $15 Labor ($705.28) All prices in ( ) are installed and including tax. These would be some good options for a lower price than the Nokian’s and are available in the twin cities.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I'm off to research those tires Stupid question, whats the difference between studded and studless? The General's are studded and the DS-2's are studless. I thought studded were illegal for our roads or something?
The General is a studdable tire, meaning it has holes for studs in the tread. Studless do not. I'd skip the DS-2's for sure. Horrible reviews. No clue on the Generals.
well Generals are a lot cheaper! So then these Generals wouldn't be illegal to have on MN roads? Anyone ever have a set of these generals?
They have holes for studs, but so do a number of winter tires. That doesn't mean you can throw studs in them and drive on the street. So, yes...the studable tire is legal as long as you don't throw studs in them
Cool...looks like I'll be spending less than I thought I would be! I just misread the "studdable" for "studded". Thanks!
Bill, thanks for the inquiry. Please note the RSi was being discontinued from Nokian and might not be available. The "R" was the replacement. Call Kevin to verify they have them available and the exact price out the door. I don't have all the sizes and prices listed. His contact information is in the first post. GL sir!!
bump for all you folks that have yet to take advantage of those discounted prices!!!!! And a big thx to everyone that's already made their purchases!!!! Thank you!
I'm looking to come in today and get some new tires depending if it snows or not since I'm rolling on almost no tread.
Would they be willing to do something similar at Venburg for summer tires Ryan?...umm, i mean Dave? <<INTERESTED!
Probably. I won't be in charge of it this year as I'm stepping down from my officer position. the appointed vendor relations manager officer will take over and handle it.
I've got some interest in getting in on a group by or a buying from a vendor announcement like this. Memphis needs some winter boots. Keep us posted please!
