Winter Tuesday Meet

3 locations? where did we get a third? and its just like the summer meets people show up that dont post up never know until you go what places work. im going to be at harmar tomorrow night regaurdless of who shows up, if people show up it can be a meet if people dont we just went out for diner

 

It seems there's a lot of animosity about where to have it this year, and we should settle on one location. Old Chicago in Har-Mar mall has been a go-to spot in the past for us and we should stick with it. It is more central for those coming from the east and north side of the cities, and it does lend itself better to getting in and out of. The West End is nice, but tough to get in and out of, and not very convenient for everyone.

I re-edited the first post to reflect this, and put the time back to 7:00 (it originally stated three locations, so that's where the confusion came from).

As for tonight, I'd like to make it out, but I'll check with the boss.

 

This is turning into a big pissing match, and we're not going to please everyone. I don't care where the heck I drive for the meet (hell, a surprise meet in Duluth would be sweet) but I realize some don't want to drive all over creation every week.

So here's an idea...(which is similar to what happened last winter anyway)...

Why don't we pick two spots (one on each side of the twin cities) and alternate every other week? Surly or one of the mods can update the first post with the meeting spot each week (most people check this thread prior to going out anyway), and we are all set. This is how a lot of the meet threads on wonderful NASIOC work for the Chicagoland area.

EDIT: Sorry Brian! Your post popped up after I sent mine. I don't mind your idea of Roseville, but I'm still curious to see how people feel about alternating....

I like this idea, Jordan! Is anyone else willing to do it like this? It would be nice to meet just every other week at each location, with activity kinda dying down in the winter. Plus, it could lead to higher turn-out at each location, placing more value on coming out just twice a month.

For now, we'll just meet at OC in Har-Mar at 7:00 on Tuesdays.

I need to try and get out more regardless of location. However, I'm a little bias for the Harmar area. I live on the north side of town as well. I do think the "two locations, every other week" thing is a good idea.

Couldn't make it out last night, with some family in town. This Tuesday I'll be there for sure. And there being Har-Mar Old Shy. There hasn't been any responses yet for the west end location, so we'll keep it at Har-Mar for the time being.
