I second Kyoto in Eagan. Been there multiple times. If you can get over the amount of time it takes to actually get your food ( order a lot at one time) it is pretty good for the money.

Its always to far for someone...both the summer and winter meet locations are about a 30minute drive for the southern members...sooo i think other people can suck it up and go for it once.

If I can get it out of the garage I'll bring it... there's a nice sheet of ice that the mustang is sitting on which also happens to be squarely behind the porsche... hopefully melted by now but there's no sun back there.

Everyone that I've talked to is still planning on Old Chicago in Roseville...I thought the sushi was just a side conversation. (Which I am definitely up for going to that place in Eagan sometime in the near future!)

Works for me, that's why I was asking. I couldn't quite figure out how that fit in.

We could do Lake Calhoun as a one-off too. Pretty nice day out...

^ I have been itching to get out to the "summer" spot. I didn't make it to one winter meet.... maybe it has something to do with the lack of pretty girls, parking lot full of cars and sunshine. With that being said I can't make tonight  However, that parking lot should be open.

Any chance someone is close by today and can swing through to see if the lot is open? I think it would be nice to get outside for a change.

yeah, today will probably be a gamble with the rain. I'd say shoot for next week and we'll go ahead and switch to the summer thread, reserving OC for storms/surprise blizzards.

if we switch to Calhoun, the meet will need to start earlier due to the sun still setting around 7:30, cause it's still winter

    So, I have a dilemma...

I'll be travelling down there for work next week, coming down Tuesday afternoon and leaving Thursday evening. I'm going to make it to the Tuesday and/or Wednesday meet(s). I lobbied to drive my own car, but my boss is pretty firm on me taking a rental down, and I think at this point I won't push the discussion any more.

So, do I take the rental down, or do I park it in my garage at home for 3 days and take mine?

I don't even know what kind of car I'm getting, lol. Gas will be reimbursed, if I get some gas sipping green machine I may have to chip in a few gallons to make it look legit...

It would be worth it! You don't get to the cities that often, so that also means that you don't get to go to too many Subaru meets. If you do leave your car at home, i bet it'll be giving you the "puppy dog eyes" and whimpering as you pull out of the driveway in the rental. lol

^^ha, for long drives I normally take my company car and save the miles/gas on my saabaru. However I suppose it is a SUBARU meet, so its up to you if the miles are worth it.

Regardless, I would show up whether or not you have your car or a rental...and heck you might even get a Subaru rental if you're lucky!
