I am considering buying a flared 06 sti. The current 10.5" winter wheels are going to put me in a ditch. I am needing some insight on possible winter setups for this car.

It is currently running 18x10.5 et15 RPF1's with 15mm spacers. The wheels are pretty flush with the flares with this setup. I am wondering if there is anyway that I could run an 8.5" or 9" wide wheel and get it to sit somewhere near being flush? I could run some crazy 50mm spacer but that makes my stomach hurt.

    Any advice is much appreciated.

Keep it a "summer only" car. Problem solved! ;)

Narrow winter tires ftw, and traction.

    Hmmm. I'd reconsider.

Seriously. A Subaru running 10.5" wide wheels with zero effective offset! That's horrendous. I'd have second thoughts following that car down the road, much less buying it.

Yeah I probably wouldn't buy a car with fender flares already installed unless you know the quality of the work. Most brotards just hack up the stock fenders with a sawzall and slap the flares on leading to inevitable rust and generally ****tiness.

But you should rock this look in the winter. Being hellaflush is overrated.
