For what it's worth... Seller is a friend of mine. Good guy. Realistic aspersions of buying a real racecar which I'm jealous of. Didn't care for the flared either. I personally hated the big wing the most. he had on it but he ended up selling it and it makes the car look so much nicer. I hope he sells it because of what he's looking for next. It's fun to rag on his ride but honestly it was pretty well done and he kept it well maintained. Hes a pretty tame driver despite the mods too.. And it's hard to find a wrx like this that isn't beaten to death.
I remember seeing it out at JMA, so i know that it was well taken care of. I was asking Jesse, “what the hell is the deal with all of these wide bodies?”lol(like 3 or 4 on the lot a while back. Probably axle issues?) Hopefully he gets it sold!
He had his car at jm because of a phantom knock that ended up going away when he had a custom straight pipe made. I think everyone's guess was that the original exhaust was banging around. He was talking up and down about doing a sti 6 speed swap and closed deck block but he couldn't find a deal he was happy with. This would be the perfect car for someone motivated.
With 12” wide wheels, what would it be used for? Big track? 1/4 mile? Edit: I’m serious mang! Not trying to be a hatur...genuinely curious
This: Unless you have race tires and some pretty insanely high spring rates...then 12" wide wheels might be useful for a road course.
I remember driving with this guy and meeting up during the Crown Rally. I don't recall the car being any louder than any other Subaru, so the straight pipe must have something in it to keep the racket down. I personally liked the wing on it at the time. If you're going to rivet flares onto the body, just dive all-in and go for ridiculous. The previous owner seemed like a decent guy from our brief conversation.
