WTB: 90's Subaru <$2500 ASAP

you need yourself a 2.2, ya know something that can handle the abuse one of my 2.2's is in it's 3rd car and has seen many very hard miles on it. just make sure they have oil and those damn things will go forevar :biggrin:

i suppose i could get the purple beast then just swap a 2.2 n/a in instead of the 1.8

 

1.8S can take abuse just as good as 2.2s but they are 1.8s slow, slow, slow

 

ok guys, i talked to the dealer with the purple 1.8 impreza l down from 2000 to 1500. it has 134k miles on it and needs at least a new oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, brakes, and an alignment.

do you guys think this is a good deal and should i get it?

There isn't an oil pan gasket, it's just RTV on those. Valve cover gaskets are teh cheap, about 11.00 per side and then 6 sealing washers (3 per side, about 2.60 each). Brake pads are going to be around 72ish for the fronts, 64ish for the rears (if you've got rear discs) you might want to hit up Napa or something for those. Rotors are between 60-75ish per corner, depending on the model...I'll need a VIN to nail it down. Might want to go aftermarket on those if you're trying to stay on the cheap. Still, that's pretty basic stuff, the parts are cheap and all of that would be easy to fix.

 

Abuse... yes! slow...my 1.8 isn't a speed demon but it's pretty quick

Before you accept anything get underneath it and see if it has a rear diff, im still not convinced its awd

 

oh i will. i dont get why you arent convinced? it has the awd tags on the trunk and on the shifter. i dont get it

AGREED emblems can be added too broziff, the reason i dont get it is because i dont think ive ever seen that small of wheels on an awd subaru

yeeesssss $$$$$ i'm seeing money now that justin's gonna have a gc. and i've got all kinds of good parts for ya when you break something.lol :biggrin:

btw i have a single port 2.2 that has a broken head stud( heads are off but one of the studs is broken) if you have a way to get the stud out and find a couple new valves for the heads. you could pick that up from me for pretty much nothing.

oh, just use your 1.8 heads on the 2.2 block a very nice combo, lots of people do this.
