yes, 4EAT designed for a 4-cyl, plus bigger car, plus bigger engine.....yes, nice tranny cooler, or wrx 5-speed swap FTW!!

I got ahold of Duane, and he got outbid on that '98 RS. and it went for $1700....with front end damage....so I think it'd be out of your price range.

yes, the 4EAT in it is identical to the ones in the legacies and imprezas, so the swap is virtually identical. I believe some linkage and driveshaft work needs to be done....but not 3k worth.

oh its not hard at all, just find a tranny and rear diff, or just a matching tranny to the diff that's in there. and i have all the rest of the parts you'll need to make it a manual.

i would say a u-pull would be the cheapest, i would just call around to some junkyards. pam's auto in st. cloud usually has a decent amount of subarus there. i'm pretty sure the tranny in your car is 4.11 if that's the case i would look for a older legacy na tranny 90-93 those are all 4.11 then you wouldn't need a rear diff you could use the one that's in there.

i'll pm you my cell #

if your car is hunter green (phileven) then it wont be the same, legacies and imprezas never had the same colors (even though they are close)
