Set your DVRs now! X Games 14 Rally Car Racing on ABC television will be broadcast live on Sunday, August 3rd Qualifying round coverage at 12:00 – 12:30pm PDT (2 - 2:30 p.m. our time). Quarterfinal, semifinal, and final rounds will be broadcast from 1:30 - 3:00pm PDT (3:30 - 5 p.m. our time). This is more air time than ever before for Rally at the XGames. New for the XGames this year the teams are allowed to run with 40mm restrictors on their turbos. Big woop you say? How does an extra 100-150hp sound and on a track said to be about as twisty as our RallyCross courses, but much longer and with a ramp to ramp jumps, concrete and hydro barriers to add to the danger. Amy
Definetly going to have to record this... going to be at the rallycross! Probably tell my coworkers to watch, too. Or maybe not.. I'm not sure which is a better image, them thinking I'm a street racer, or them thinking about rally racing. I deliver windshields for a living...
That crashing into each other at the finish business was kinda dumb, but otherwise those little super-special stage races have been kinda cool in past years.
I'll be there. I will take some pictures for you guys. Unfortunately, that means I won't be at the rallyx.
and so am I, I am out here with CPD racing and Kyle Sarasin  So far its been a great time, and its unbelievable with how much goes on behind the scenes. I will try to throw up some pics later.
I will be co-driving in car 44, which was the late Colin McRae's car in 2006-7. The jump is approx 70 ft. and this will be an exercise in precision. We will have a 3 MPH or so window in which to hit this jump, going over that resulting overshooting the jump and landing on your nose, less than that coming up short. At the practice this was approx 45-46 MPH. My job coming into the jump will be to constantly read out the speedo readings till we are airborne to ensure accuracy. There are 4 pavement surfaces to deal with here with varying traction levels on each. Packed dirt Tarmac Seal coated Tarmac Seal coated concrete Each time we have run traction levels have been different, with traction as a general trend improving as more rubber gets laid down on the surface. It will be an interesting ride tomorrow. Scott
I have not watch it yet, so I will have to stay out of this thread till I do. this way I know where to restart reading at... lol
Rally America is different than World Rally. Ken and Travis run Greddy front mounts, The Rockstar guy has a sick TMIC and GT30 setup.
too much carnage. it is a real shame Niall crashed out. it looked like they had it fixed up by the end of the day. i wonder if he realized he could have limped around like mirra? he might have made it to the finish. matthew johnson put is a great drive. that was easily the most exciting round of the day on his last run.
Not exactly clean and pretty but still fun to watch even if i had to mute the second half. The commentators really got annoying.
Kind of. When he nose dived he biffed a bunch of stuff. They were able to fix most of it. But they were unable to get a radiator back on the car. So he drove to the start finish line and then they went to a four minute commercial break. He shut his car down so it wouldn't overheat and then it wouldn't start back up. Bummer. I didn't get to see Scott Putnam's car run, missed that while I was with the SOA guys. Did get to see Sarasin run, he put down some good passes, as did the father/son team. ACP's tumble was CRAZY. And Mirra is played out. But props to Pastrana.

Thanks Chet, I watched that a couple of times. I'd really like to see the whole damn thing, though... What could I search for on the cable box? What was it "called"- anyone else have Mediacom?
it was called "X Games" Yeah, helpful, isn't it? I have the whole thing TiVo'd, but it could take a while for me to get it off the box and into some useful format.
