Since the last time at the track we switched it to an EBCS to be able to ramp up boost at the top end, and also put in a Boost-A-Pump because it was leaning out with the higher boost levels. The car ended up making 666 WHP at 35psi, but we were seeing spark plug blow out on anything over 33 or 34psi so the plot breaks up at the higher boost levels. You can see the car spitting flames when it misses in the video. New plugs should be going in tonight. 666 WHP / 523 WTQ Here is a video of the pull.
I'll just throw them in at whatever Nuke has them gapped to. At 0.025" now, so it will be something less than that.
Outfront Motorsports alternator relocation bracket. Install: The bracket came with a 28" belt, but it wouldn't fit on my car. The 110A alternator hits the block and stops it from swinging all the way down in the Outfront bracket. I went to the store and got the next size up, which happened to be 39.25". This fits fine, but the alternator is at the very top of the adjustment range. I will be trying to find a 28.5" belt at some point. I think that would be perfect.
Haha thats as good of a reason as any. Would be cool to see a direct comparison to see if it helps transient response or spool at all. Everyone says it does but who knows, with that huge intercooler core a little piping might not make much difference. You already have the shortest possible hot side length, might as well shorten up the intake side.
I really don't expect it to help that much. Just would clean things up a little. I'll need to get my piping redone. I was hoping I could just hack up the pipes I have, but I don't think it will work with the BOV placement.
I've never been a fan of black wheels, but I ended up with black RPF1's because it was too good of a deal to pass up, but I've always been considering a change. I decided I'd try Plasti Dipping them and see how it would look. I like an OEM-ish silver/gunmetal look but I cheaped out and got the matte gray Plasti Dip. I painted them with tires on just by sticking index cards in the bead to block overspray. I used 3 full cans for the faces (and overspray onto the barrels) of the 4 wheels. Honestly, I don't like it at all. I'm not sure what I'll do. It will probably stay for a little while, but it will probably be changed or removed eventually.
Fair enough, I would probably try to match body paint color. You are having your CF hood painted right? Might as well have them spray the wheels with the same color. Would look almost like stock wheels.
The hood is already done. I will be putting it back on today. I would love to trade for silver RPF1's, but if I can't find that I might get them powdercoated next time I have to swap tires.
Some shots of the painted CF hood and the wingless trunk. Also seen are the awful Plasti Dip gray wheels.
Painted hood looks well done! Maybe one of these would look good.. https://www.dipyourcar.com/Plasti-Dip-Enhancer-Sprays/
When I rotate my intake manifold I left the alternator in the stock location and just dropped it to the lowest setting then grounded down the back side by the plug connector so I could turn the post sideways rather then it sticking straight up then I peeled back the wire loom to extend the wire and tucked it behind the ac compressor and alternator everything clears with my 8mm gs spacers
I have no AC anyways, so there's no reason to do all that when I can just move the alternator to the side.
Over the weekend I swapped in an 04 WRX cluster. Direct plug and play. I wanted it for the center tach. I ended up swapping back because center tach doesn't work with my steering column mounted GoPro.
Hey, gotta do my part in keeping your funds free'd up for other purchases. You should just color match the wheels.
Haha. Good point. I need to liquefy some more funds one of these days. I have piles of old parts. I agree that silver wheels would be my favorite. Finding someone to trade would be ideal, but paint/powdercoating the current ones would also be good.
I'm sure I'd really like that for a few weeks until they start to chip and then I'd really hate it. At least with this terrible Plasti Dip I should be able to pull it off. I currently have the wheels listed for sale or trade on The Face Book. Entertaining offers for cash or silver wheels.
I have an offer at $1200. I'd much rather trade for silver ones or maybe just paint these. I don't know yet.
If you end up keeping them, hit up @thatwheelguy on facebook, let him know I sent you. He facilitated my Works, they turned out fantastic. He has a couple different guys for powder.
i think the strip and powder portion of what i spent was around 500? but, this was a two stage powder so it was more expensive. i spent more than that total but it also included separation, polishing the lips, polishing the hardware, assembly, sealing, plus the faces.
