On saturday my wife and I bought a 2006 San Remo red WRX wagon from morries minnetonka. It will be the eventual replacement for the yellow WRX.

So far it is very entertaining to drive. I took it on the fall fun run and tried to take it easy on the throttle. It has so much pwer down low it wan't too bad even overgeared and at relatively low RPM. The brakes are definitely better than the ones in my 02 2.5RS but not quite as grabby as the no ABS ones in my 93 WRX. It got 270 miles out of 14 gallons of gas (most of that was during the fall run) so it got 20mpg while horsing around with it and driving fast, which is ok i guess (I miss the 32 mpg on the matrix already)

I'll take pictures sometime if I get a moment. I can't find the charger for my digital camera.

yeah the wheels were a dead giveaway. Oh well, I hope whoever ends up stripping those wheels off doesn't care how many times they've been curbed. I'm bringing by the stock wheels later on in the week.

not really sad to see the matrix go when I am drivin a new WRX wagon though. Still miss the plastic rear hatch area in the matrix but i dont miss how every little thing would slide around like crazy back there and needed to be tied down. I asked the sales guys if you were working on sat, but I guess service isn't open on weekends. I originally went to go to BP morries but they were out of WRX's there so they sent me to minnetonka. I dealt with Amaechi, he's a nice guy. almost too well dressed to be selling cars for a living.

It will be at the autocross on sunday. already has 600 miles on it since saturday. Might wait on the oil change though, not sure if i want to do an oil change until i get 2k on it. I'm trying to think of excuses to drive places already.

sorry, we kinda got caught up with amaechi and didn't plan on buying it. We left, went home for a few hours and he called me back with a good offer so we went back down and signed on it real quick while they were closing on sat night.

I would have liked to give it to you (commission...) If I had known I would have had it driven up to BP... oh well. I'm a jerk when I'm trying to get a deal anyways so maybe it wouldn't have been so fun.

yep, going to be on the ice. My GC 6 spokes with snows fit just fine, I'll probably be switiching to those in a few weeks. It might be AP stage 2 by then, but we'll see how long it takes cobb to actually come out with their new accessport version 2.0

Amaechi is a good guy glad that you guys bought from him and not someone else. I went to training with him last year. Its ok about being a jerk everyone is when it comes to trying to get a good deal. I see it everyday. No worries. It still would have been fun. The one big advantage is that now at BP Subaru we have a account with Subydude.com so, you could have order some stuff (like wheels) and I could have rolled it in with the payment!

eh, they're not slowing down the car any, so they stay. Its free to leave them on there and if I ever need them they're already there. I never much cared for teh difference looks wise between having/not having a roof rack. Looks the same to me. I didn't like not having the rack on my matrix, so I'm glad this car has one.

+1 for the sleeper effect too.

yeah would have rather bought from BP (maybe rory might get a little bit annoyed I didn't go through him either) but It came up all of a sudden, we really didn't plan on buying but the deal was good enough we couldn't really turn it down.

Oh well, then the next one we buy in 2012 we'll buy from you =]

    -1 days.

Actually the only thing i changed was putting in the GPmoto intake elbow and removing the intake silencer. I'll probably put a few thousand miles on it as is before I start doing anything else. Once I sell my other WRX i'll order a TXS stealthback and an accessport and run AP stage 2 with an STi TMIC.

Suspension stuff will be added as time goes on. Swaybars/endlinks first, then maybe some new wheels and tires, Koni inserts and ground control coilover kit with cusco camber plates all around to finish it off. I'm ordering a whiteline detatchable rear wagon strut tower brace sometime next month

yeah, that chassis is all over the place. It felt like helming a boat. It will be a fast car once i'm done with it. Should be a locally competitive SM car but its not going to be anywhere close to nationally competitive in terms of prep.
