Tell me if I'm way out of the ball park but I'm seeing an average trade in at 8300, clean at 9150, and retail at 11725. I come out with an average as you said of 10437.50........ So add 2k for stage 2 plus vf39? And that's somewhere between the dealer your not and the clean trade you say you don't have.

He would have been better off claiming ignorance. Luckily, he's not in any rush to sell neither. Which is a bummer, because I'd love some dessert hot heat.

this reminds me, I have to do my head caskets soon too.

I have also been asking around for this "medium" tune, I cant find anything about it.

is there such a thing as a 1" cat? sounds like it would do its jobs to the highest of standards at that size.

I meant no offense. White WRX wagon, STI turbo setup, new tranny and trailer hitch made it pretty unique setup. Sorry. Your Ad needs some work.

Sorry gonna disagree. I'm not seeing how a 22b body kit and some other goodies ad up to $20k without an engine.

I read enough. It's a shell with a body kit, the tranny w/rest of drivetrain and no engine. $2ok is how much I spent on my '06 STi, I sure the hell wouldn't drop buku bucks like that on something without.

Ever rally prepped a car to actual spec, like such that you can be legal and pass tech? The obscene cost on top of simply building the car is what keeps me out of it.

You are sorely, SORELY mistaken if you think an OEM STi is anywhere near ready. YOU probably shouldn't drop "buku" bucks on it because you're just driving around the street. That would be stupid. Why do you need an FIA compliant rally car to go to the grocery store? That would be annoying as hell for everyone involved.

The carbon fiber body kit alone is 8500 then tack on installation and paint.

    Then add:
    Clean Impreza chassis
STI Hubs, Brembos, diff, axels, etc
    6Spd tranny (diesel, not STI)
    Main Harness Swap
    Full cage
    Fire supression system
    Race Seat and Harness
    Racepak cluster
    Fuel Cell
    Coilovers
    ETC.

While its not a great deal, when I was looking to STI swap my rs and put a 22b body kit (not the CF one), I was looking at $20k in parts incl the body work.

The point folks keep missing here is this is NOT a street car swap. I'm not talking about the wink-wink-nudge-nudge "not for street use" disclaimer you have to agree to for aftermarket anything. I mean this is not something you would do to a car you intend to drive on the street. You would know if you have a use for such a thing.

Exactly this. If you are in the market for a street driven STi, this is NOT for you. If you are comparing this to your street driven STi, this is NOT for you. The money you are paying for this car is money spent on a chassis that was built specifically to meet the specifications required for sanctioned race driving events of a specific type and scope. It isn't just a "shell with a fancy body kit and no engine." It is a race prepped chassis with all the required bells and whistles for racing use that you can choose your powertrain for the specific purpose you intend to buy it for. This is not a car that you would drive home from the purchase. You would have it trailer-ed to and from the races you compete in only. If 20k for a race prepped chassis sounds like too much for you based on your comparison to street use vehicles, then you are NOT the intended audience.

Depends on how skilled you and your friends are, and how much free labor they're willing to give you.

Ask the ziptie guys if that seems reasonable for a purpose built, fully sorted and sanctioned platform.

Yeah, that craigslist ad is pretty special. It takes an awful lot of delusion to think that price is sane.

Seriously.... What a douche bag. Looks like he lowered the price though. He's probably willing to listen to all offers. I can't speak for him, but I'm guessing he wants to get it out of his garage... Probably needs the space or something. Again, who knows who this asshat is, but the carbon wrap is probably removable and the rest of the exhaust looks clean.

If It runs in tip top shape, the water pump/timing belt have been changed, the clutch has been changed and there are records of all of the work being done...... Maybe.

Whoa that is like a clone of my car almost! lol 2007 Limited, 6-speed, even same injectors and TMIC...only I have less than 80k miles and better transmission!

I think I have seen it around down in Eagan actually. If it is the same, it is a little obnoxiously loud.

Oh and yeah I wouldn't say the price is ridiculously high. I would want more info on the built motor but seems like a solid build and he is definitely losing a lot in what he put into it.
Which is precisely why I hope I am never in a position where I am forced to sell my car! It is worth more to me than I could ever convince someone to pay for it.
