Get Bikerboy's Cobb exhaust and move the hangers. I'm probably gonna bring my stock exhaust back from storage to help out with the needing a pipe issue over there.
I would love to, but since I currently do not have a job, I don't really think I should be spending money on a exhaust.:sadbanana: Russ
we could take a looks sometime... maybe you can take a pic of me rally sliding the gravel corner ha ha ah
No job, no income, no updates. :sadbanana: The HIDs are fine. They actually hold a tighter beam pattern than the stock bulbs. I haven't been flashed since I installed them, and I never even adjusted the lights after install. Russ
Dang, that sucks. Did you get the 35w or 55w kit for the hidizzles? I'm assuming you got those from ddmtuning?
I picked up the 35w kits. If I know I will need more light, I just throw the light bar on. Last time I did it, it took me about 20 min to get it on and plugged in. Actually, I didn't even see pics of the finished light bar, I will try and trow a few up this afternoon. Russ
Pics of the finished light bar. And the dyno graph. TQ is good, hp sucks. Looks like I am the edge case with this thing. The wastegate blows open as soon as it starts to build boost. I have read a couple of others that have the same problem, so I am guessing that subaru just throws a super light spring in there. I am really, how many people actually push these thing and how many people would actually notice that the wastegate blows open right away. Russ
Well, really it is even less than that. I am currently running on all of the solid lines. So it is barely over 13 and pretty much a free fall from there. That is also not redline. Redline is 7k and I am sub 8psi by 5600. On the dyno you can see as soon as the exhaust builds up some back pressure the gate just goes wide open and stays there until you let off. The wastegate has next to nothing for spring pressure. Time for a new turbo. td04 is way to small for a 2.5 4eat car. Russ
I am thinking about debadging the trunk...were the emblems on the back just stuck on like most subarus? Do you know if the emblem can be taken off the sport grill? Thanks for your advice earlier!
Yep, the rear emblems are just "stick ons" I had ours of within hours of bringing the forester home. Without walking out to the garage to be 100% sure I'm pretty confident the badge on the sport grill cannot be removed or else I would have done that when installing ours.
I the the badge on the grill has a back to it, so if you peel it off you still have the circle, but I am not 100% on it. All the letters and such on the back are all stick on, but again I think the badge might be attached. Russ
Where did you pick up your grille? I was thinking about picking one up for Mothers Day. Hopefully she'll appreciate car parts...
Haven't been here for awhile but I would of never thought you would ever get ride of your WRX. Nice pick up on the Forester.
Nope, just pointed the camera right at the lights and hit the button. I am not in the direct path of the lights either. Russ
Just have a couple of updates and to bump this thread from the grave. I sold off my old rally lights and replaced it with a 30" LED light bar. As of right now, it is a work in progress, but I should have it working this afternoon. Russ
Ok, here are some of the kinda completed pics. For now, everything is just bolted in. I will get it a try for the next week and if everything works out ok, I will pull it back out. Then I will weld everything together and have it powdercoated. And just the bar and parking lights. Russ
I should have that exact same bar in my hands in the next few days. Will be going on the rally car. I'll try to take some shots with it vs the 2x 55W HID Hella FF1000 and 2x 55W HID Hella Rallye 4000 lights.
Here are some crappy "down the road" pics. I will try and get some better ones from a better location once I have some more time. Just low beams (4500k 35w HID) Low beams and the light bar. And since I have also made some new changes... @idget, do you think you can buff this out? Lady on her cell phone decided she wanted to take a right hand turn while she was next to me. Russ
No door damage? How did she manage that? Lovely new aero mod she gave you. Glad you're alright and she didnt pit you or something.
She was in a dodge durango, and we just side swiped each other. So I think it was her front tire and my front bumper/fender and then her rear tires and my rear bumper/quarter. It looks like the back door is good and the front door only has a slight bend at the bottom. I think that was more from me having to push the door out to get out of the car since the front fender got pushed back into it. Russ
Her insurance going to cover for this damage? Hurts to see a fozz in that condition. At least you're well and all from the snow n accident.
That bites Russ! Glad to see that you're ok. I just got some body work done at Hagen's in Minneapolis. They came highly recommended and they did an awesome job.
Moving cell phones should not be able to connect to the network. The world would be a better (although not quite as productive) place. I feel your pain.
I can't even tell you how many people I talk to on a weekly basis that seriously ask me that question about worse damage, with a straight face . Hope she has good insurance!
and back from the grave again. All the body work was done and completed a while ago. She was found at fault, so her insurance had to pay for everything including my deductable and the rental car I had for a month. I think when it was all said and done it was right around $6500 for everything. And now onto something I have been meaning to get done for a while. Down the road video with the LED light bar. It is pretty obvious when the bar is on and off, but the biggest difference that you can really see starts around 2:45. Also, the gopro does this thing no justice at all. The light actually fills in sooooo much better than what shows on video, but this will give you a good idea on what a 30" bar will do.
