DGM 2015+ STi with tint, exhaust, and red overlays at Uptown Kowalski's yesterday about 12:30ish. Sounded and looked great!
Saw a really nice looking 04-07 STi. I couldn't actually tell the year as I just quickly saw it and got ready to throw up the deuce. WRB with an Invidia sticker on the back. (This was actually on Friday. Was too busy to post until now)
Forgot that on Friday night, around 11:30pm at Lake Monster Brewery there was a beautiful 11-14 WRX hatch DGM with what looked like snow tires on steelies, mud flaps, and tint.
I saw a WRB blobeye with an STI wing leaving Jeff The Alignment Guy's shop yesterday around 5:30 pm. I was driving south on Douglas Drive towards 55 in the silver bugeye.
I pass a white 11-14 WRX hatch a few mornings a week on 36th Ave in New Hope a little before 8 am. Anyone?
Not me, but I live pretty close to there. There's another silver bugeye WRX in the area too, but he's an older gentleman with (what looks to be) a totally stock silver bugeye.
Last night, ~6:30 very sharp new white wrx, turned off of 169 heading west on Maint St. in Anoka. It's cars like that make me want to upgrade
Finished getting tuned at DB this morning and stopped at Best Buy to get a Nintendo switch and saw this stud parked by me upon exit. Lifted, snorkel, rally wheels it looked fun
Perhaps some veteran members can enlighten me, being relatively new to the MN Subaru community. Why no love for the MNSubiez group? They some kind of off-shoot faction or something? Was there some past drama and a rouge clique splintered off to form their own community?
Ooh, I got this. MNSubiez spawned from the need for the instant-gratification generation to have an echo chamber where their questionable modifications, unsafe stretchy butthole tires, asinine camber, irresponsible behavior, refusal to take responsibility for anything they've done wrong, and general safe-space words-hurt-me whining would be accepted and cultivated. You've probably noticed, but MNSubaru has a pretty solid core community and there's some folks that have been around a looooong time. Hell, I'm not even one of them, I've only been here since 2012. A few things to note about this core community: -we've all been into cars for quite a long time. This isn't our first rodeo, so don't try to sell your clapped out Forester for 5500 bucks when it's maybe worth 3 grand if someone's feeling bad for you. -we all have a finely tuned bull**** filter. don't try to justify your dumb**** street racing, parking lot burnouts, and other general douchebaggery to a bunch of folks in their 30s and 40s who have been down that road before. We were all young once, so we know. We also know it's stupid, and that we were stupid back then. -function over form. There's two ways to do a BRZ. One is the TMF or the Kneel Weiss way. Suspension, power, drive in anger. The other way is the MNSubiez way. 205s on a 9 inch wide wheel, 20 degrees of camber, huge aero, park hard as ****. Sorry kids, I like driving. Just one easy example using one car. -going back to the echo chamber. we've seen too many times people get their dick slapped on this forum, then they run over to MNsubiez and cry about how we didn't coddle them and encourage whatever bull**** behavior they tried to bring in here. Finally, THAT ****ING 'Z' WHERE AN 'S' SHOULD BE.
I got banned from MNsubiez but I can't remember why. The dude that runs that page is a boihole surfer.
Thanks, Derp. You know, it's kind of funny you mentioned all that because I kind of got that vibe from them. Although I do have a FB account, I have yet to post anything on there. I just use it to check out other FB pages and MNSubiez was one that I came across while I was doing research into the WRX before buying one. Lots of photos of crazy mods and seems to be a pretty young crowd. I never joined them and came here instead after lurking on the forums for a while and reading about the stuff people did here. Yes, I certainly got the feeling of a close knit friendly community of people looking out for each other. That was what I liked and hope to be a part of. Yes, the Z does bother me to some minor extent. Also, our swoosh logo is way cooler looking, in my opinion.
On Sunday afternoon I spotted a slick black BRZ followed by a black 15+ STI in Wayzata by the roundabout.
Parked on the side of Lyndale right now in front of Hagen's Auto Body, just had a dark red Legacy wagon fly by me. Only caught the back of it but it looked to be dropped and the exhaust sounded really nice.
Yeah, I remember a large membership to that group early-on seemed to be due to the Subaru stance-tards getting verbally abused repeatedly for stretched butthole tires and looking like dip****s. I think around 2011 there was sort of a push back against Subaru bro-tards with flat brimmed hats, energy drink logos, and stretched tires. My few visits to MNSubiez revealed a hug-box culture of whining, martyr syndrome, poor life choices, and general idiocy. I did get a neat signature addition from it though where they had a discussion about MNSubaru and everyone was whining about the moderators. Naturally, that got directed to yours truly at one point. Since myself and gutter-slime tend to be diametrically opposed, naturally there was some hate tossed my way. I never posted, I just sorta sat back and enjoyed the crying. Like I tend to do here.
I always wondered what i was "missing out on" over there. I figured that Joe Gengsta just started a Facebook page.
That car tingles all the senses. It's hard not to see it, hear it, at times smell the small oil leak, if close enough feel the rumble vibration and well, it may be a reach for the fifth sense, but the owner does have good taste in cars.
Fairly positive I just spotted @quizno73 in his svx on rice street by hogsbreath. Safe assumption he was coming from the car wash near by. Car looked good in person
Pretty sure that I spotted you at 7:15pm last night on White Bear Ave in Maplewood. You were heading south by the Community Center.(just south of 36)
It was a WRX-filled day for me. Started the day spotting a nice clean white 2015+ STI at Fairview-Riverside red ramp around 7:45am. Then I caught a glimpse of a black Stinkeye WRX hatchback with gold wheels headed eastbound on 94 by hwy280. In the afternoon, I saw a WR blue hatch with a black oversized hoodscoop, gold wheels, and an exhaust headed east on hwy96 around 4:45pm. Lastly, rode next to a lapis blue 2015+ WRX that had a front license plate relocate, roof vortex generator, and last three of license plate was TAC. Was gonna wave, but I thought I might be weird since I was riding incognito in a silver Chevy Cruze. Man... I miss my WRX!
Got to listen to @BroCo 's exhaust as I chased him out of the work 'hood this afternoon. Also saw a black on black on black Legacy with exhaust at Kwik Trip on 10 in Ramsey. I see it pretty regularly.
