Two weeks from tomorrow the car gets dropped off. A built short block, Ben's old 60-1, these goodies and more will be installed and tune. I don't think it's really came to me yet but this will be the fastest car i've been in or driven. I've dreamt of an intake manifold, one day
I have started to dream up an intake manifold. A billet manifold with no welds will be a challenge but just like the tumblers they turned out great. IAG made "one" for the BRZ/FRS using a roots supercharger.
I got my parts back from anodizing today. My car will be dropped off Thursday for the rebuild. Built motor (bore/hone 99.75mm, balancing, JE pistons, upgraded wrist pins, Turbo Tuff I Beam rods, upgraded rod and main bearings, new OEM crankshaft, ARP headstuds) GSC Beehive valve springs (rev out to 8k, otherwise heads are stock) Fx500 clutch ( I think thats what i ordered lol) Kinugawa 60-1 turbo (60mm) Aluminati tumblers (tgv deleted) Aluminati fuel rails Aluminati block off plates (air pump delete) IAG fuel rail line/fitting kit Fuel Lab FPR Turbosmart RacePort BOV FIC 1650cc injectors Killer B oil pickup Thermal Zero turbo blanket Goodridge SS clutch line Torque Solutions inlet plug One step colder spark plugs
Nice! We are going to be on very similar setups, except I'll be running a 20G XT-R. I'm hoping to get all of my stuff installed and tuned before the event on 4/12.
I do not for see any issues with the tumblers but want to install them on my car first, then make more What's your timeline for these? That's sweet! It should be a fun day for sure!
I have been making some solid mounts for someone and thought i would share. So far i have made the pitch stop and motor mounts, soon i'll make a transmission mount. The motor mounts will have threaded studs installed after anodizing.
Installed studs into the motor mounts to make sure there was enough thread when seated, these will be re installed after anodizing and locked in with thread lock. Also made a new shift handle I love how it feels, just amazing! Thought the engraving was a nice touch.
Time to get this trans mount done. The easiest way possible for me to get hole locations is on the CMM (coordinate measurement machine). I drew a simple model but had to head home, more to come this week. It will be way more carved out! The standard STI mount is pretty soft, the Group N mount is much stiffer and solid mounts with urethane bushings, is pretty much solid but this mount will take the cake and some teeth lol jk Also the STI (6mt) mount is 2.87" tall and the 5mt is 3.17" tall, everything else is identical.
I have no idea lol I'm gearing up to start making batches of parts soon. They'll be on ebay for sure.
I modeled up a one piece design but am thinking about a three piece design to simplify the manufacturing process and keep costs down. It's greatly reduced compared to the OEM unit. The four mounting points are slotted for more adjustment if needed.
I have contacted Russ a couple of times now. I'm not sure what is going on and apologize for the delay.
Modified the model to reflect a 3 piece design, it will also incorporate a shim for use with both 6mt and 5mt transmissions. It should be very light and strong!
I'll do pricing on all the car parts once material quotes come back but per forum rules, I can't post them unless I'm a vendor.
Overkill? Who says? There's a company in new Zealand or oz that sells them fornlike 9k and they are apparently well worth It. No one in the us has one yet. Could you make closed deck inserts like outfront? Or too complex
I know that company and one in Austalia that is doing it as well, as high as $15k per block. Maybe way in the future, just not of interest now.
We may have a few things you could test But lets just wait till i get the vendor thing figured out first……..
Made a new shift handle and a shorter knob version but didn't have time to snap anymore pictures before i had to leave the shop. Just lovely how it fits in your hand, can't wait to test it at the track in a few weeks!
I will be installing the newly made trans mount tomorrow, along with StopTech Street Pads After looking at it, the "A" engraving was flipped, since it is mounted that way. Didn't think about that when i drew it.
Put the trans mount on today and took it for a test drive. First thing i noticed was very quick engagement and instant throttle response. Not much increase in NVH but this is coming from the Group N style mount. The quicker engagement seems to help daily driving with my FX500 clutch (easier to get going in first). Overall i am very pleased with the design and will monitor it for a few weeks to see signs of stress but believe it will hold up to anything. This Friday i'll be at the track and it will definitely be put through it's paces. Once testing is done we will run batches of motor, pitch stop and trans mounts. This will official lunch our product line of car parts (Under Aluminati Sound LLC).
