Been trying to track down some steam coming from under my hood. It took me a couple of days to find out what was going on. One of the water hoses connected to my turbo was brittle and leaking. I replaced it and knocked the banjo bolt loose, so I didn't think I'd fixed the problem at first. It's good now.

had my winter wheels (stock) and tires put on. Discount Tire does it free if they did the mounting originally. A very nice service for people like me that don't anywhere to store a jack, stands, etc.

Got my car dynoed at RS Motors, came up a little lower than I expected at 329 AWHP. May try without the exhaust baffles next.
Ron also fixed a water leak on my turbo that I missed.

Second lifted Subaru, 1" paranoid fabrications spacers, 215/60-16's for a total of about 2.2" of lift.

    Also, Flapatax flaps.

I did realize one of these wheels is bent though, so I need another, if anyone has one for cheap.

Going out on a limb and going to say the 1" spacers. I'd go with Subtle Solutions over PF though, had nothing issues with the dude there (at PF, not SS, had no issues with SS) and his parts.

Yep, just the 1" spacers. I went with paranoid because it was about half price and a machinist friend of mine said he expects exactly zero issues with HDPE (as in, not being able to handle the job).

The rear clearance is very scary while its jacked up off the ground, in fact I was touching on the left side, and had about 2mm on the right.

Subtle Solution's 1" spacer kit has threaded holes. This is much more likely to be incorrectly torqued and cause issues down the road. I do not know why they chose this design. I specifically asked this question in their thread on the Forester forum and it was completely ignored.

The Paranoid Fab spacers are just normal through holes. You torque the bolts like normal, and the spacer is sandwiched in between. I much prefer this. I had no issues with my order through PF, but it was just one order with no real interaction besides payment.

Paranoid offers extended bolts, you knock out (literally) the original studs and install new bolts. These are held with a nylon nut to the tophat (if you choose to use it) which it has a recesses for in the machining of the spacers. This allows the nuts and spacer to stay in place during install, although, clearance is a bitch on the rear.

It's really driving nice, gotta fix my front camber though.

Put this in this morning and took it for a spin. The extra weight is awesome! And I like that it sits lower too. Shifts extremely smooth now. image.jpg

Quite aware, have used both companies 1" lifts, the SS Aluminum spacers were a lot easier to use, even with it being a used kit and the PO having partially cross-threaded a hole. All the holes were in the right place and the bolts were aligned correctly for the strut towers. 3/4 of the PF spacers were horribly misaligned, and I still had to use 2 people to tighten up the nuts on top. The extra cost for the SS kit is worth it, IMHO, and if I go the spacer route on this STi, I'll go with their kit again.

Whiteline steering rack bushings. They made a big difference. Car feels more connected to the road; there's a lot more feedback and the car is a lot more responsive to my steering. I also met Vinnie, good guy, slick looking rig.

Finished waxing the car and decided I really need to invest in a power buffer. The paint feels awesome, but now every little blemish sticks out! And to prevent the comments/questions, I went with a paint sealant rather than a carnauba wax.

It's kinda funny you just put on a weighted shift knob. I just went back to stock cuz my weighted knob got so cold.

apparently a certain group off Subaru owners pissed off the local deer population near County Road 7 a couple weeks ago. One of them decided to take its revenge this morning.

Needless to say, im impressed! I put this on not thinking I would feel much but man., I was wrong. It stiffened up the steering tremendously. The stock steering is really messy and this tightened everything up........ a lot! I mean the car literally feels like one piece in the front.

Next step is the rear. I bought some bushing inserts for the rear diff and subframe along with a Cusco power brace rear cross member. Hopefully it does the same for the rear as it did for the front

Yep, just unbolt and bolt up. My cross-member bolts were really on there but after a half can of PB Blaster and a little bit of cusing I got them all un-fused

I had another MNSubie member (@ma_deuce) helped me with the lateral brace install because there was no way my impact wrench would break the bolts. Surprisingly those were easy!

I have driven a fair amount with it now and I can say I am extremely happy with it! It isn't even too cold in the morning either, I guess it has a pretty thick powder coat. I was pleasantly surprised with it.

Replaced a headlight bulb, and noticed that one of the orange parking lights? (top corner, little orange fella) was burnt out. I picked up some replacements (one set of LED and one set of the regular bulbs) to replace that, but was curious (noob question...) of what is the best route of replacing that bulb. Does the whole headlamp assembly need to come out? If so, is there a need for re-leveling etc? Any pointers?
