I keep checking it every day or so, no rubbing (at least no signs of it) and no coolant issues. I'll keep monitoring it though.
No Failradian, that is the upper resevoir. Greg broke his radiator. You lose! Did you ever find a replacement resevoir, or are you actually using that beaut? I haz one...
I'm using that one. It works just fine, little bit of jb weld and a brass fitting did the trick. I wouldn't mind having one that wasn't repaired though lol. Maybe with the turbo? Ps im pretty sure he broke the upper reservoir
Sounds like a part out party @tangledupinblu garage. Everyone must bring own tools and plenty of cash to fill my pockets. Being that I am the organizer of the event. I get first shot of a bigger turbo and addons. And the pshhhhhh part. Please no loud noises. The baby will be sleeping.
Installed my dash cam today. I chose the Cobra 825E based upon it's features, and the inclusion of the suction cup and adhesive mounts. It's a little pricey, but I liked buying a known brand. I also installed one of the Dash Cam Store's installation kits. http://thedashcamstore.com/installation-kits/ Being able to keep the wiring clean by piggybacking off of another fuse makes me happy. So ya, expect lots of videos of ****ty drivers in the future!
Believe it was that one actually. Tapped it with my elbow, so figured an upgrade was worthwhile. Wrong, but partially correct. My rad was starting to seep, but it was still working. Failrad didn't fail (for once), but my rad was on its way to.
Finally got around to installing some gauges and a SMY gauge hood. PODI gauges, the fonts are as close to Subaru as you can get without copyright infringement. The color was supposed to be dead on, but I am seeing a little bit of a difference. I haven't installed the temp gauge sending unit. Still up in the air on whether to use for water or oil temp.
Nope, but with things like this out there, I like the little bit of protection it gives me. Plus, who doesn't like internet shaming ****ty drivers once in a while?
Just got my wheels aligned at Northwestern tire for $69.95! They're running a special for this month on alignments, and I did even know about it when I dropped the car off this morning. Surprise!
My car was going through withdrawals so it was time to hit the boost booze again. Back to E85 but on the new turbo I need to make a build thread one of these days.
Took the snow tires off. After 9 winters (I don't have a long way to drive to work, so the snows see only about 3,000 miles a season) the Dunlops have surprising little weather checking, and what little they have is between the tread blocks...the sidewalls look great. I think I can get at least one more season out of them.
For sure going to hack up a GR STI aftermarket axle back for my next exhaust after photoshopping this...
Nothing fun...replaced front right CV axle on the 05 Saabaru. I learned (thank you @Todd), to float that clip on the transaxle end in wheel bearing grease and use the axle as its own slide hammer when installing. I just couldn't get it all the way in. Never had that issue before.
Replaced the center differential this weekend. I dropped more than a few f-bombs trying to slide center diff and extension case over those two 2-piece needle bearings. If i ever have to do this job again a lift or taking the transmission out of the car is the way to go. It's just not any fun crawling around doing everything on your back. Worked on my first timing belt change too. I pulled timing belt and avcs cam driver side. NO filter behind the oil line behind that left side avcs cam. I was hoping to find a dirty one at the banjo there. I'm going to flush the hard line on that side but really out of ideas on my ongoing avcs issue. fav. quick pic of the weekend:
That looks great, but with the design of our vehicles you will have to do a ridiculous amount of fab work to get the dual exit look to work out. The fuel tank on the passengers side is going to be the biggest issue. I'd love to have this on my Forester as well but it would be tough to pull off. If you manage to make it work make sure to document it, I'd love to see the process on it.
This guy did it, all he had to do was cut up the crash bar under the bumper a bit and cut some holes in his stock bumper!
Got it dyno'd @ RS after a turbo upgrade by NF (PTE 55mm stock location). Low boost results (18 PSI) look strong, pulls hard to 7k now, just need to get a bigger fuel pump and then we should be able to make a bit more power at around 23-24PSI.

Saw your car at NF Saturday when I stopped by. I run the dw65c on a 60mm turbo and 25psi. But have 1650cc's and built motor lol
Nuke recommended the new DW300c 340 lph in-tank pump. I think that will allow us to run more pressure and flow more fuel instead of using larger injectors. I just had those ID1000s installed in January, would suck to have to replace new parts already.
I would think more like 450 with a 60mm and 25 lbs. You should stop over at RS and find out, it's not terribly expensive for a baseline run (no tuning).
I was planning to do a before and after but they didn't respond soon enough. I'm curious what it makes.
Should be between 400 and 450 at RS. Mine made 457 at RS with the same setup (same actual turbo) but I was at higher boost.
