Did the timing belt on my fxt and helped zyklonbee install a CV axle. Don't let your ac idler pulley go too long or it explodes and the belt gets behind the gears and wears into your timing belt cover. Also found out I need a cv axle. Put it to sleep for the winter :(

Thanks again to @idget for doing a great job on the pre-storage detail!

On Saturday, I installed autometer boost and oil pressure gauges. Boost is mechanical and hooked up, oil is electronic and not hooked up yet. Wired them both to illuminate, but only the boost gauge lights. Something else to figure out now.

Took her to Tim's Custom Exhaust to repair a rusted flex joint and replace a rusted hole with a stainless cat-back & Magnaflow muffler. :) Mmmmmm the tasty sounds...

I wouldnt go to Tims custom exhaust again. Ive got a buddy with a lincoln mark 8 and he had them do the headers and exhaust and they hacked those headers up so badly and I think one side is leaking at one of the welds they did. The welding looked so bad too. Tims custom exhaust in Coon Rapids ha gone way downhill the last 5 or so years from what Ive heard and seen from them.

I went to TCE to have them mate my cobb dp with the invidia pipe. Think they did better than if i took it to the local shops by me anyway.

Today I got my car back from the garage. I took it in because of a creaking/popping sound when i turn right mostly. They checked the area out and said my sway bar bushing and links were shot. Forked money over and when I got car back the noise hadn't changed at all, sadly bringing it back they can't pinpoint the noise but say the car is solid up front otherwise so they sprayed some grease on some areas and sent me home. Pondering how long the noise will take to drive me insane or if I'll adjust to it!?

Well, not today, but I finally got around to taking some pictures.
    Mini 0805 Dashcam installed.
    I got this dashcam: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XJTS8SA and this 12v to 5v-USB adapter: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007O59Z7I

I wired the power adapter into the auto-dimming mirror harness, then ran the wire down with the mirror wires.

Here's what it looks like when the mirror is moved aside:

This is what it looks like from my perspective when I'm driving:

And from outside, it's essentially invisible:

This I actually did today. Winter wheels. Probably would have waited until next weekend, but #1 - our van had a flat tire (nail puncture) so I was getting the snows out for it already, and #2 - I'll be at the dealer on Tuesday for service so I can get the TPMS reprogrammed while I'm there (my scan tool will read the programmed codes, but can't write new ones in a Subaru, grr).

(Yes, the lugnuts are blue. For some reason I can't resist buying ricer lugnuts, but at least these are good quality forged Mutekis, not cheap AutoZone crap).

put the winter tires on the wife's car Monday.

Got the winter tires mounted on my new wheels and put on the crosstrek today.
Paid a way to much for new tpms sensors. And my stupid light is on anyway. Looks like I'll be going back to the tire place tonight.

Just broke off one of the drivers side rear wheel studs IMG_20151120_114057.jpg while putting on the winters. Guess I don't know my own strength. It wasn't even tight yet.

Sometimes it takes extra time for the light to go off. I think you have to drive above a certain speed and for longer than 20 minutes or something...

What was used to install them? I've always used hand tools for installation and removal, along with proper torque wrench and settings. I've changed my wheels and tire too many times to count, and have yet to strip or break any of my wheel studs. (probably the reason of no issues is the constant changing. They don't have time to rust and seize up...)

Since I drive 75~ miles everyday, I just did my 3rd oil change since I bought the car in September. Was a success and I can't believe how much fun I'm having working on my car.

Tomei EL headers are in. Sounds amazing with my Borla Hush. Not even going to lie, the sound kind of gave me a rubbery one. Hnnnnnghh

Now to hit up Eric Mineheart and see about getting an etune started on the dirty bitch.

So this broken wheel stud has now turned into a saga. A second stud broke off when I was removing the wheel. Read online to remove the speed sensor to make room for installing the new ones and that bolt also broke off. I've got the new studs in, but I was wondering if its OK to drive without the sensor hooked up for a day til I can drill remove the broken bolt. I've bagged and taped up the sensor and I'm going to zip tie it out if the way. Is this OK?

Took 4 lower mileage strut assemblies off a 98 outback sport and put them on our 94 leggy wagon. The right rear tophat on the leggy strut had disintegrated prompting the swap. Replaced stuck caliper as well. I love this...

^^really sorry to hear that, but I hope everyone is ok.

I saw that Afton Alps is opening on Friday, so I decided to throw on my snow tires and ski rack yesterday. Not my favorite hung over activity, but now it's done!

How loud are those things on the highway? Any noticeable drop in gas mileage?
