Having some brake issues so figured it'd be a good time to do a fluid flush and attempt to install SS brake lines I got a while ago and have been putting off. Put it on stands and popped the wheels off. Oh no, that's right. I didn't pop the wheels off cuz apparently my locking lug nut socket has left the car. F**k me...
Great wheels, but wrong size, wrong fitment, wrong tires, and on the wrong car. You're also going to rub like a mother****er, have fun wrecking your fenders and quarters. also, you're too low. kids these days.
I like the fitment, I don't know why it's the wrong car lol, my fenders and quarter panels need to be repainted soon anyways.
Today I checked the fluids on my Subaru because there is a whine coming from my hood when I turn the steering wheel. Fingers crossed, adding some PSF will resolve the issue!
Mine was doing that when it got cold and I noticed that there were bubbles in the PSF tank when I turned the wheel. The o-ring on the PS pump inlet gets old and hard and frequently leaks and sucks in air so I got a new one on amazon for a few $ and it cured my issue. It got rid of the funny vibration in the steering wheel on the highway as well which I guess was caused by the air in the rack.
Actually took the car in today and found that the pump and rack are apparently done for.... So, full replacement! YAY!
Weird, is it still under warranty? Or are you paying for it? Any other symptoms besides a whine? Seems odd that you would need both a new pump and rack.
Well, I bought used from Walser, so I have the "Warranty for life", which I figured was worthless, but it is covering everything. There was a thread somewhere else on this forum asking if anyone had any experience with the Warranty for life thing and the funny thing is that I read that and thought, ya it probably won't pay for anything, but now I'm happy I have it! I did have other issues, but I thought I was just being hypersensitive. For a while now, when I am in a long sweeping curve, it would feel like I had some movement, like it wasn't holding the line. But then the whine started and didn't go away after warm-up, which led to checking the fluid, which was pretty much empty, which led to... full replacement!
I installed two minor convenience items into my '16 WRX. Added a fuse box coin holder (why there isn't one standard???) and upgrade map and dome light to LED. Huge improvement in light output, original lights were terrible...
I did but it was right before it got cold. I'm waiting for a warmer day or perhaps rolling into when I get my bumper repaired.
More of what I got for my XV then what I have done. Waiting on mounting these until winter is "done". Method Race MR-501 17inch rims wrapped in Continental Purecontacts.
Fought to keep it between the lines! Be careful out there this morning on your commute! Ice under 2-3 inches of fresh powder. Super slick!! Keep her in one piece!!!
I put some "amazon special" chameleon blue/purple vinyl wrap on the dash last night/this morning. It turned out OK, but the material was tough to work around corners since it was so thick. That and a few defects showed up that I wish didn't. Either way, more hp! Edit, embedded photo.
Changed out the headlight bulbs for the umpteenth time. And a wash. Interior tomorrow. then maybe crawl under the front and see why the outside thermometer is reading 120 degrees.
Swapped out my rusting mesh grille for an aluminum one. Plastidipped all exposed steel parts so hopefully it won't rust out anytime soon. In the meantime, I'll see if I can't strip off the old powder coat on the mesh grille and refinish it with bedliner. Hopefully that stuff would stand up to flying sand and road debris and not chip as easily. Might have to later get another stock plastic grille and fabricate my own light mounts.
^it would probably be "fairly inexpensive" to get the old grille media blasted. Nürburgring sticker for an extra eleventy billion horsies ftw!
Replaced sparkplugs, K&N filter, Noname bellmouth DP, 3" Bosal Exhaust, GS heatshield, AP3, 20mm sti rear sway bar, New head unit amp & sub... Yesterday was a long one!!!
Yeah, was contemplating just refinishing the old one, but I did like the look of this one as well... That it is aluminum makes me a bit more confident in its ability to withstand MN winters better. Not a sticker, but is actually painted on!
