Gave it its first real workout the past 3 days at Powercruise. Logged a little over 200 miles on the track in 4 different sessions. Only victims for the weekend were a slightly torn cv boot on the left side that left the inside of my wheel nice and greasy, and what feels like some pretty decent front brake pad wear (to be expected, right?). Definitely got a good taste of what it can and can't do, and had a ton of fun despite being in the low to middle spectrum of speed out there.

Sounds fun. I bet there are some fun stories coming out of those power cruise events!

Not nearly as exciting but I caved and bought an accessport through ma performance for their tune. It's so much nicer than the stock tune. Fingers crossed it doesn't cause any issues!!

Nice! Did you go with 91 or 93? I wonder if the butt-dyno can feel a difference between the two. I have a BP a half mile from my house, but it's the only 93 I know of in the area. That and on road trips, I've really only ever seen 91 being readily available.

Truthfully, I don't know that I can feel the extra HP, but I know it is more at the higher revs and I haven't pushed it much since I added the MAP. The biggest difference is actually in the 1st - 3rd gear shifting. Much less touchy throttle means that my shifts are MUCH smoother and I can frankly pay less attention to being perfect about my pedal control. In the past, due to the touchy throttle there was more jerking.

I'm happy with the change for sure.

Road tripped out to Colorado Friday night. Spent the weekend in Ft. Collins with some friends, and now we're at Red Rocks for a concert! A little rain won't ruin our fun!

Alt-J. It was great, soaking wet until half way through the show, then crazy dry air moved in and dried everything out. Gotta love mountain weather. !

I added 2700 miles to the wrx when we finished up our Colorado road trip last weekend. After the concert at Red Rocks, we camped nearby, and the next day drove up to Dillon for a night. After heading west on 70 for 3 hours and driving up a 3 season dirt road for an hour, we arrived at lost lake campground. I highly recommend this campsite if you're up for it. The nearest town is an hour away, and the hiking is fantastic with beautiful scenery!

I was very pleased how my little 2.0 turbo handle the mountain climbs! Climbing at 75-80 I was able to keep it in 5th for the majority of the inclines, and under 5lbs of boost. If it got over 6lbs, I dropped it to 4th. Downhill was a piece of cake, only a little braking needed using 4th, and 3rd on the higher grade hills.

What blew my mind was my milage in the mountains! I was expecting low 20's, being that there's less O2, and a lot of hill climbing, but I averaged 32 on 2 tanks in the mountains! Minneapolis to Ft collins I averaged a measly 26 on 3 tanks, and lost a quart of oil. I suppose 80mph for almost 13 hours will do that. Good thing I thought ahead and brought a jug with:thumbup: I believe I need an aos for my next road trip.

Did the timing belt today. Bought the car 25k miles ago and was unsure when it was previously done. Replaced all pulleys, tensioner, water pump and thermostat while in there. Also upgraded to a Grimmspeed crank pulley to free up a few ponies.

Looks awesome! I was actually out in Colorado myself from August 4-11 and stayed with friends in Dillon! I did not make the trip in my WRX though, since I didn't want to put the mileage on. Starting to have regrets...

Definitely check out lost lake. There are 3 lakes, 2 that are higher up than the one pictured, and a waterfall that you can hear all night! This is a first come first serve campsite, so getting a spot could be tricky. We showed up on a Wednesday at 1pm, a little later than I wanted but it worked out. We drove through the site, and a car was coming at us loaded up. We got the last spot! I felt bad for the 6 other cars that filtered through that day, only to have to leave.

Yeah, I had the same thought about driving my car. My girlfriend has a Mazda3 with the 2.3, so i figured we would have been crawling up those mountain passes if we had taken her car. Not gonna lie, those curvy roads are a ton of fun to rip around on! Plus, I saw a ton of Subarus out there too, and 90% of them were 3.6R's. Lots of Subie love out there. I told my gf that she needs to get a Outback 3.6R for our next trip

We've taken a couple ski trips to Colorado (Frisco/Dillon/Vail areas) in my wife's 11 Outback with the 2.5...pretty much have to give 'er hell the whole way up the mountain. If we actually lived out there, I think you'd almost need the 3.6 or a turbo.

Wife and I went to Mantana a few years ago with the 95 Legacy loaded up for a week long boarding trip. Took 90 the whole way across through the corner of Wyoming. The tired 2.2 did surprisingly well holding 5th gear with the cruise on most of the way and even got over 30 mpg going through some of the bigger hilly areas.

I think NA 4 bangers wouldn't last very long in the mountains, turbo or higher displacement needed for sure. You'll probably get better milage with the turbo though.

    Never would, that sounds horrible!

I spent a solid 1.5 hours on Friday trying out a waterless wash and wax. Going through every body panel one by one.

I walk out to my car after a workout and I see this
    [IMG]

Someone threw a f**king milkshake at my car. A milkshake. The car was by itself on that side, so it was definitely a**holes intentionally being a**holes just for the hell of it.

Tried to go through a car wash but some of it was already dried. I don't know if there's any damage yet. I'll have to check tomorrow in the sun
    [IMG]

I'm gonna have to go to the self wash again tomorrow to get the rest off. I am so pissed off right now :banghead:

On a lighter note, these pressurized spray bottles work really well at spraying soapy water onto a car, much better than traditional spray bottles. Highly recommended

That sucks big time. Some people are just miserable pos's. I usually find new door dings after I wash my car thoroughly. It's the price I pay for having a black car I suppose.
