I sent her packing with her new owner @Luke1817 . Hopefully he’ll bring her to the LaXCruise this summer. She is in the right hands, and that’s the main thing! Everyone make sure to welcome Luke to MnSubaru!!
Opened spare set of headlights to mock up some custom DRL led strips and halo rings and re finish and clear lense. Some people black or the chrome, but I don't think i will. Any input?
Sprey on rubberized under coating in trunk for sound deadening and corrosion prevention. Gonna do underbody with roll on under coating when it gets nice out.
I will for sure let you know how it is after a few times using it! One of the buddies who drives a forester has one and he has send nothing but good things about it so far. I love the new basket by the way!
Couple final mild mods on the '04 OBK VDC before we hit the road tomorrow. I tinted the rear door windows for our daughter in the back seat. I disconnected communication between the cruise system and TCU. Now it won't downshift so aggressively when the cruise is on. Super easy mod, and I much prefer it. While I was doing some electrical modding under the dash, I spliced the 2 wires coming out of the body unit so that the keyless entry will unlock all the doors on the first push, instead of having to do it twice. Also pretty simple mod.
Had the guys at JM Auto install rear 3/4" spacers to remedy a saggy butt, and do an oil change. Now the car sits level and I don't scrape going down my driveway with stuff in the trunk. What do you all think? Should I go get an alignment or not necessary?
If you have never had an Alignment with the car before deff would not hurt to do. OEM subaru alignments are ****.
It was only a change to the rear and they call it a 3/4" spacer I would be surprised if his static rear height changed anywhere close to 3/4". But yea normally any ride height change will warrant a new alignment
Interesting. I didn't know that was a common issue with sedans. I've got 3/4" spacers on my Outback, but it's also on LGT suspension.
That and I carry like 100lbs. of kid stuff, carseats, tools, emergency stuff, etc. in the back. It was sagging noticeably. I guess Jeff the alignment guy is the one everyone recommends? I tried emailing him before but never got a response.
What is the email address you tried to reach him at? He is a one man operation so getting back to people sometimes can be hit or miss.
Jeff does great work at a good price but can be a pain in the ass to deal with. [email protected] is the address I have for him but he sometimes replies with fixin911s@yahoo. Not sure if you should reach out to him at that or not though.
I used the online form on his website. It even lists, "you may get in contact with me directly through this online form". Figure I'll try again or give him a call. If that doesn't work then I'll go elsewhere. No big deal. I might add a 1/4" spacer up front. Seems the rear sits a tiny bit taller than the front, but I like the amount of wheel gap present with the spacer. Not sure yet. Still interested in a 1" overall lift...
His online form is broken. His yahoo email was compromised a year or so ago I dont' think he uses that one anymore. [email protected] is the business email he uses primarily.
I have a gmail address for Jeff. I'd be happy to PM it if you're looking to get in touch with him. Also, I've heard Samaritan Tire in the Hopkins/St. Louis Park area is a quality shop - not too far from Jeff.
Gave her the first handwash since i’ve owned her! A little something to commemorate her last day without a front plate. But thanks to Art @petrakov08 at GrimmSpeed, I won’t be drilling any holes in the bumper!
Thanks guys. I tried the [email protected] address and he promptly replied. Got a date scheduled for an alignment.
It is the standard lip, at least what is left of it. The car hit a deer that was laying on the road and took out the middle of the lip. I’ll be doing a new oem replacement this spring once the weather warms up!
Well she’s got a front plate and is officially a Minnesotan. Modified the tow hook cover with a big drill bit, inserted GrimmSpeed plate relocation kit, cried a little. Thanks again Art!
WOT to Wisco to pick up a bottle of Hennessy (Master blenders No.2).....on the way back got caught up to by a sweet Black Legacy w/some MN Subaru stickers ..... we nodded and off he went to the 694 on ramp
Got a P0031 code on the way to work Friday morning. Having just setup an appointment for JM to look at it next week (for other issues...) and having a splendid time figuring out this same issue last fall in a rush before Powercruise, I was basically forced to go drop $200+ on a sensor at Morrie's this morning. Hooray! PS, I'd appreciate any positive energy y'all can share next week around Wednesday... Haha. Fingers crossed for a good prognosis from Dr. Myhre.
Didn't really do anything "to" the Subaru, but "in" the Subaru. Took the dawg to the vet for the first time. They put us in the Prince room! Recently opened facility in Crystal that treats animals with the goal of making affordable pet care available to everybody, regardless of your ability to pay. Very cool approach to veterinary care. They only have 1 doctor on staff right now, but they hope to bring on a couple more soon.
