Most Dealerships have them in quarts.

I still have a drum from my last change. I can pour it out into a 5gal jug to see how much I have left if you want to buy.

Your right, they changed the name , but it is the same as extra s. I bought some last year from Morrie's Brooklyn Park. It is the recommended tranny fluid.

I've noticed my tranny is a little bit louder and doesn't shift as smooth since moving away from extra-s. Might be in my head, but I don't think so. Who cares as long as it's lubed, right?

I just switched from extra S to the new subaru perf. gear oil in my 6spd after replacing the center diff. Mine shifts smooth and is very quiet, I have no complaints so far. Just fill it to the proper level and don't worry about it.

Hey, just curious what it cost you for the center diff?

I have a jdm v7 6spd; The center differential was the same as a legacy 6 spd. iirc it was ~$550 for a new center diff. I'd have to look at my receipt as it was a while ago I picked it up.
