So the OP came here to... what? Everyone knows of CL. Everyone knows of the 5 car limit... What new information did you provide, really?
Unless your only purpose was to come in and post publicly about how much money you made selling cars last year?

You folks are a little slow aren't you? This implies that I would be "caught". I'm NOT DOING ANYTHING AGAINST THE LAW. Beyond that, I've already been discovered. I've raised my hand. I have already reported to the DMV and will report my taxes in a month or so. That's why this is so funny to me. You all are shouting "you can't do that!". But its done. I did it. You can do it too.

Beyond the fact that its legal, I wonder what the big stink is about??? Is what I'm doing unethical? Because if its not against the law and you're still upset, it must be something.

What is the actual problem you have with what I did to pay off my student loans in 2015?

Congrats on paying off your student loan. that is a good accomplishment. The issue we are having is with HOW you are getting around the 5 car maximum stated by LAW. Since the only answer we get is vague and "its personal I don't want to talk about it", it leads to the suspicion of unscrupulous doings. That is literally all we want to know. How you are using the "loophole". That is it. Because if it is illegal then we will need to remove this post as MNSubaru does not condone illegal activities. If it isnt illegal, we will clean up the post so only the relevant posts remain and leave it.

It is very simple. Very, very simple.

That's it? OK, I appreciate that. And again, I apologize that I'm not willing to give my personal information about how I personally get around this law. There have been AT LEAST 2 ways posted throughout the thread that are also legal and simple ways around the 5 car limit. Therefore, the bottom line is there are legal ways around it. You won't get my way. I don't want to be judged by it, as some of you may possibly disagree with it for your own personal reasons. But I have personally discussed it with the head of the DMV and it passes. I have spoken with the head of the DMV at the DMV during business hours, not just in passing at my office. That's all I'm going to say about it.

You know who will find out your way? The NSA since they've been watching you since we welcomed them into the GDTD.

Also, I don't think your arguments will hold up in court. Please let us know when the dates are so I can bring popcorn and watch, I've got PTO I'll use to come watch.

You still haven't answered. That's ok though. Since you won't tell us how to legally get around the 5 car limit, I am pretty sure this concluded.

It's not like we are unreasonable.

And I understand that you want to know. The thing is, it is personal. Also, I'm in a situation that I can almost guarantee none of you are in, and also could not be in even if you tried. Its a unique position that has good and bad associations. So it does not apply to you.

The problem CONTINUES to be you created this thread, no one asked for your "Christmas present" if you will. You shout from the roof tops your brilliant yet obvious ideas and when asked for more details you say it's personal and that you don't want to be judged. It makes the whole thing look suspicious on top of you being very egocentric about the whole thing, leaves many of us with a lot of doubt.

I posted it up, because it was easy money. It changed my life this year, and I wanted to share that opportunity. That was why I labeled it a Christmas present. You started shouting about it being illegal. All I did was try to explain that what I did was NOT illegal and there many other ways to do it that are also not illegal. I have continued to specify that you can do just ONE at not have any worry at all about anything and make a quick buck. When I did this the first time I was surprised how easy it was with a car that was a bit junky. As I continued on and found you can make over DOUBLE what you paid for a car, without doing any work to it at all. That was the aha moment. This thread got crazy, and everyone started jumping in with both honest and clownish responses. I just wanted to share my story and say that it can be done, with very little knowledge, time, or work.

BUT YOU ARENT EXPLAINING WHY YOUR METHOD ISN'T ILLEGAL!

THAT is the issue. If it is illegal or shady, MNSubaru wants nothing to do with it. You saw follow the links and read what the internet has to offer. And we all know the internet is right always.

If you want to share how much this changed your life you need to let us in so we have a perspective on why YOUR life is so special. I'm not psychic. What I do know is vague and non-descript answers are HUGE red flags. So likely no one here will do it this way.

@ShortytheFirefighter gave a chance to make things right. Let it rip. Go for it. But stop shirking the issue.

I love how 3 pages into this, with multiple users asking the same question, you still are blathering on like a typical pyramid-scheming retard about how it "changed your life" and is "completely legal" and "I just am giving it to you as a gift."
Sounds to me like you showed up today with a throbbing "i told you so" erection. One so big that it was about to burst out of your pants like the ****ing Hulk. And you were all prepared to rub it off and jizz your Schadenfreude all over the internet. But instead of your internet forum i-told-you-so fantasy developing into a jizz-soaked domination festival, the expected ladies of the evening decided to call you on your bull**** and show it. In the animal kingdom, we refer to that as "presenting." And now you're backpedaling, claiming that we are all wrong and that your dick really is as big as you claimed but you don't have the sack to actually thump it down on the tabletop for us all to see.
Man...the i-told-you-so blue balls must be aching like someone smacked them with a hammer. Will you ever get to blow your load? Seems to me if you wanted to shut all the haters up, you'd just whip it out and show them what they want to see. Don't be embarrassed, little fella. As long as it looks big in your hands, who cares what they think. Pull it out and let us see it.

I have just stopped reading the replies as this is going nowhere.

Please let me know how you plan to deal with all the truly illegal activity on this site, such as removing catalytic converters, excessive speed, etc, etc, etc. This will be my last response to the subject.

You're such a tease. Don't take your balls and go home. LET US SEE THEM!
Also, nice try with the "catalytic converters" defense. Nobody is writing up a thread talking about how you can get extra horsepower by removing a catalytic converter and then following up that suggestion by saying "it's completely legal if you know the way around it, which I'm not going to tell you because reasons." Idiot.

Pretty sure he is confused and thinks he's on MNSubiez.

That said, for the casual reader (since the OP is done responding), the answer to the "explain how you plan to deal with people who are shady as a shady thing and/or outright break forum rules" question may look like the following:
    https://mnsubaru.com/threads/car-wash-cheat.41312/
    https://mnsubaru.com/threads/good-spots-around-the-twin-cities-to-do-a-third-gear-pull.46926/
    https://mnsubaru.com/threads/02-wrx-lake-elmo-is-fake.42056/

Alternately, any interested parties could simply search the site for banned users and review the tail end of said users' post history.

Here’s a bit of help for you all. The adults will understand, the children will likely still have issues.

We can establish that drinking water out of a glass that you are holding with all 5 fingers is jolly good.
If I said I drink water out of a glass, but don’t feel comfortable telling you how I do it (because I have 6 fingers and I don’t want to be judged for having 6 fingers). That doesn’t change that its ok to drink water out of a glass.
All it says is that my situation is different, and private, and very likely DOESN’T APPLY TO ANYONE HERE.
You wouldn’t need the information about my private and personal situation to understand that it’s ok to drink water out of a glass because it has already been established that it’s ok.

We have established that selling 5 cars per year is jolly good. So if I sold 5 cars in my name, and sold 5 car in my wife’s name, and she died and I sold 5 in my new wife’s name, that would be a legal sale of 15 cars. I’m not married, so this isn’t my exact situation. But this establishes that you can legally sell 15 cars per year.
And I said I sold 15 cars in one year, but don’t feel comfortable telling you how I do it. That doesn’t change that its ok to sell 15 cars in one year when special conditions apply.
All it says is that my situation is different, and private, and very likely DOESN’T APPLY TO ANYONE HERE.

    Cliff's notes:
I walked into the forums today with a huge boner and told you all it was huge, and you'll just have to trust me that it is huge because it's private and I'm not going to show it to you because it is personal. You'll just have to take my word for it.

You're skirting the law by having your family members on the bill of sale to avoid paying due taxes and regulatory fees for doing automobile business in the state of Minnesota. We get it, you're in a legal grey area, but you work in some way shape or form with the police department so, you know, don't want to let on about the blue line and the double standards afforded those in the inner circle. Don't want the citizens to find out you have a situational loophole you've exploited. Especially not working so closely with public servants who are supposed to enforce and uphold the very same laws you're skirting. But you're blowing someone at the DMV, so that makes it cool. Gotcha.

Personally, I don't give a **** what you do. What I am doing is letting you know that there are people on this site that will love to know that you make a 16k profit last year. These people will be very eager to collect your 6k+ check for gross income tax. What you want to do with that info is on you.

Also just so you do know (and for everyone else that is reading this), I and MNSubaru will not delete this thread (or any thread) when the IRS (or whoever) comes crawling up your ass looking for answers.

We deal with it monthly. Someone mods their car, brags about the ZOMG 300WHP on E85, blows it up, then returns their car to stock for a warranty claim and then comes crawling back for us to delete their oh so awesome mega horsepower build thread. I will not delete it, and the mods will not delete it.

You put it out there for public consumption and the public will consume.

    Have fun with your money.

My tax charge for the sales is going to be right around $4,500 when its all said and done. You might notice I mention tax in my original post.

And I don't get any special favors from the police or DMV. I'm treated just like everyone else. (Except for on MNSUBARU where I'm treated like an outcast. I hope you're all proud of your shenanigans.)

Is it that hard for you people to understand? How would you feel if you shared a wonderful experience and then immediately got treated like a criminal? I hate to be the adult here, believe me, but you guys are in control of the forum and are acting like a bunch of babies. And what's really stupid is that you know I'm right. You would have "banned" me by now if you actually thought I was doing illegal bs. I keep having to scold you and explain just how right I am. This thread is this long just because you're curious about what my stupid loophole is. There are about 10 loopholes that I can think of off the top of my head. I'm not sure if they are all legal because I haven't asked. What I have asked about is what pertains to my particular situation. If you do this you would obviously have to get all the details of your own situation. But, seriously, you guys are great. I realize this is the internet, but you are the moderators! Grow up.

Dude, you seemed fine just selling cars here until the pointless ass thread that makes you seem like a kook. Any kind of "here's how much money I made" kind of stuff always comes across as douchey. Since you opened the can of worms about your "situation" people want to know what's up and wriggling around it just feels slimy and kind of sours my former opinion of the cars you flip.
